totes Titan Compact Travel Umbrella, Windproof, Water Repellent Auto Open/Close , Black

They said it withstands winds up to 70 mph. I had a previous umbrella that said that, but it did not work! The previous umbrella I had from Macys would open and close, but was very hard to push in and one day after coming home out of the rain, I threw it down the trash chute! I will respond again after using this Totes for a while. UPDATE: I USED THE UMBRELLA FOR THE FIRST TIME YESTERDAY. IT IS A DECENT SIZE, BUT IT DOES NOT LOOK STRONG AND I AM SURE IT CANNOT STAND STRONG WINDS BECAUSE AN EARLIER BOUGHT UMBRELLA, WHICH WAS STRONGER, COULD NOT STAND THE WIND. ALSO, OPEN AND CLOSE UMBRELLAS ARE NOT GOOD FOR SENIORS OR SOMEONE WHO IS WEAK IN THE ARMS BECAUSE IT IS ALSO HARD TO PUSH IN. AND, YOU HAVE TO PUSH IT IN BEFORE YOU CAN MAKE IT GO UP AGAIN BECAUSE I TRIED IT YESTERDAY. I CLOSE BY PUSHING HANDLE INTO CHEST OR WITH BOTH HANDS IF I AM NOT CARRYING ANYTHING. I DONT LIKE TO CARRY AROUND LONGER UMBRELLAS, SO I HAVE TO PUT UP WITH THESE SMALLER ONES. WHEN I THINK ABOUT IT, THEY USED TO SELL UMBRELLAS THAT WERE A LITTLE LONGER, LARGER AND STRONGER. I WILL HAVE TO LOOK FOR ONE OF THOSE. MY MOTHER HAS A DUCK FACED ONE, WHICH IS LARGER THAN THIS ONE. SO, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS UMBRELLA FOR STRONG WINDS! FINALLY, AFTER USING UMBRELLA AGAIN, I WILL HAVE TO LOOK FOR A LONG AND BIGGER UMBRELLA. I WAS GETTING VERY WET TODAY BECAUSE THE UMBRELLA HARDLY GIVES ANY PROTECTION. I WILL NOT BUY ANY MORE SMALL UMBRELLAS, ESPECIALLY ONES THAT OPEN AND CLOSE WITH SAME BUTTON. THEY ARE A PAIN!!! PEOPLE WALKED PAST ME TODAY WITH THE EXTRA LARGE ONES THAT NEED TO BE ON A BEACH!!!

The decorative red plastic strip seems to be peeling off after a few uses, but other than that the umbrella works fine.

KEEPS ME DRY AND SCARES RAIN AWAY. EVEN WORKS IN EXCESSIVE WIND CONDITIONS. IT BE LIT PEOPLE.

Theres plenty of confusion here on sizing. First of all, there are apparently both mens and womens Titan umbrellas with different sizes for each (never mind the box has no gender label). Second, the dimensions given by Totes reflect what they call the Arc Dimensions, which is a perfectly useless and deceptive measurement, since it traces the circumference/curvature of the umbrella canopy rather than a measurement on a straight plane. Totes claims 47 for the arc dimension of this umbrella, but measuring straight across at the widest point yields a measurement of just 42. Way too small for a tall person with a big stride, despite claims here that the umbrella is big enough for several people. This umbrellas going back.

The umbrella worked fine for years until a small linkage broke. Followed Totes instructions on warranty claims and sent in the required materials and $5.00. Less than two weeks later a new umbrella was delivered.

I purchased this umbrella specifically to keep in my truck. It is the perfect size to store under the rear seat compartment. The umbrella comes with a fabric storage sleeve. I especially like the handle because it is large and easily fits my hand. It opens with the push of a button on the handle. You have to push it to fully extend the umbrella until it clicks in place. I have only used it once since I have had it. It was raining with a moderate rain. It was a quarter mile walk but the Totes worked just fine. It is wide enough to keep the upper body dry in a downpour. However no umbrella is indestructible if a sudden stiff gust of wind gets under the umbrella. My umbrella was black. I did not encounter any problems using the strap. I gently wrapped the folds of the umbrella in the direction of the Velcro strap closure and it works perfectly each time. So far I am satisfied with my Totes. I would recommend it to others.

Strong and great size and quality

Always great to have a good big umbrella that can collapse on its own. Great for travel as we got stuck in disney in rain. Didnt have this bought their cheap China one that broke. Figured buy one and leave in suitcase for future travels. Can fit two under easily

This seems very strong and its compact and works well. I dont know why this is listed as womens accessories. The black one works well for mem, too.
