We had a recent power failure. Every single smart device in my home successfully came back online on its own. All except this device. I have lost all patience with “smart” devices that go offline and are a royal pain to get back online. I shouldn’t have to do a factory reset and then re-pair the device. I’ll simply switch brands.

I bought one of these Tapos to control a bedroom light via Amazon Echo (Alexa). It worked for a year and half and then stopped working with Alexa. It continues to work with the Tapo app but using the Tapo app is inconvenient for me. The Tapo app suggested changing the router DNS configuration but I am not willing to do that. So why this stopped working after all this time is a mystery but I have moved on to Leviton Alexa compatible devices. While doing a kitchen remodeling project I needed a Decora style dimmer wall switch which led me to discover Leviton. Leviton also makes Alexa compatible plugs so I consolidated all my devices to Leviton for convenience sake. After 2 months, so far, so good. Another advantage to the Leviton plug is that it only covers one plug of a wall outlet.

Works perfectly, the tapo app is straightforward and easy to use.

Bought this for my sons nursery because the plug for his lamp was in an area that was hard to reach and this plug makes it short easy to turn the light out just by using my voice with the echo dot. You can also control the light with the Tapo app as well which is super easy to use too! Great value

Works as expected, size is a bit too large for most places.

I have wifi 6 at the house. The p100 will connect to a hot spot on my phone, so i can set it up, but it wont connect to my network. I did update the firmwear, via the phone, etc. I have written to support via email but its pretty obvious they have not read my email and the suggestion that they sent back made no sense at all. disable roaming, beamforming, band steering,etc so that is going to be as far as i can get.

Maybe Smart Plugs just dont work well -- this is my second brand that has failed. The socket says it is turned off on the app, but the heaters plugged into them switch on and off randomly. I have them in a little garage area I dont go into often so I was really unhappy to find they had been running on and off for a few days. Customer service is infuriating so I give up on them.

Very easy to set up and use with the App. Smooth integration and use with Google Home.
