> 24 hourI picked this up to load isos and livecds to be my all-in-one boot device. I only picked this model because of price versus usb 2.0 drives but I am very disappointed in the 3.0 speeds. I wasnt expecting much coming from a sandisk xtreme doing insane write speeds but I was still sad to see usb 2.0 speeds. 11-15mbps write when it claims 45, Yeah right. Skip a few cups of starbucks coffee and get the sandisk. That being said, it works great otherwise. The kind of computers I pop this baby into doesnt have 3.0 ports only my home computer.

> 24 hourI bought this when I needed to rebuild a netbook that had died. The hard drive was going out, the owner had never made a copy of the operating system as prompted to several times and the machine crashed due to basically neglect. I managed to get the drive running with some sata cabling long enough to copy the operating system to this drive. I then replaced the faulty hard drive, reloaded the operating system from this flash drive usb and the machine is now alive and well. I was impressed with the quality of this drive based on the price. So much in fact, that I turned right around and bought a 64G version for my own needs.

> 24 hourI gave this 3 stars because the blue sliding part is very loose and doesnt lock in place as it should making it difficult to slide in certain usb slots. Other than that it does its job.

> 24 hourGenerally this drive would be great, but in this case the quality control is bad. The activity light is non-functional. I have other identical JetFlash 790 drives and the activity light is functional. Its probably rare. One thing to note is these drives are 3-bits per cell MLC flash memory (a.k.a. TLC ). Most in this price-range are TLC; the more bits per cell the less longevity the drive has. Again, if it wasnt for this latest arrival with a non-functioning activity light, Id rate this drive 4.5 stars. The other issue that Id suggest addressing is how easy it is to bend the drive. You must be careful when inserting or it will bend the metal connector inside the casing (possibly a solder joint, or where the usb metal connector is connected to the small circuit board inside). It can probably be bent back a number of times before snapping. Just be careful. The drive is fast, and a great alternative to Sandisk drives. I will buy again in the future. Works very fast in Linux whereas Ive had trouble with another brand (Corsair) getting good USB 3.0 speeds. Virtually no matter what I do with Corsair drives, the drive write speed is horrible in Linux. This Transcend drive has a more compatible controller I think and is achieving the speeds mentioned on the package.

> 24 hourAfter doing some research, reading reviews, etc., I finally decided on this Transcend 64 GB flash drive. I just needed something I could use to periodically back up some of my non-critical folders (I take care of the critical stuff in other ways), and this was one of the more economical products I found. After two weeks of use, Im reasonably happy with it. Im using it with a MacBook Air 13 and a fairly high-quality USB hub (almost mandatory since you get only w USB ports on the MacBook). The outer housing seems a bit flimsy -- not sure it would hold up to much abuse -- but since Ill just be using it once a month, I think it will be OK. Transferring the files from the MacBook was smooth and quite fast. Reading from the Transcend presented no issues, either -- it seemed just as fast as reading directly from the MacBook. I didnt clock it -- as long as Im not having to sit and wait too much, Im fairly easy to please. Overall the design is fine -- the business end slides in and out with a locking slider -- its small and relatively sleek, too. No issues at all. Solid 4 stars for quality vs cost. Would purchase this brand again if the need arises.

> 24 hourİ purchased this items(2pack) 02.02.2022 and received this item 04.02.2022 İ have more time to test this devices. İn fact the same devices ma be difference performance showing. As picture you can see one of device real files copying and crystal disk mark test difference result. Second device real file transferring many ripples exist(such as waving) but in general crystal disk mark results are close. Good price for performance.

> 24 hourIm giving this the 5 stars it hugely deserves for price and capacity. Im expecting longevity as well, since so far everything Ive purchased from Transcend has been problem-free. If it doesnt last, Ill come back and grumpily remove some stars. Im not using this for incessant daily transfers, but more as an exceedingly handy all-purpose storage bin. And it definitely requires 3.0 after it starts to fill up, or youll be waiting longer than you are used to these days. I didnt love it laboring away on a 2.0 connection. But 3.0 is fine for my purposes. And I appreciate that it works without fuss with everything from an antique netbook to several laptops of various vintages and powers. When I do want to share something among my widely varied collection of this and that, it is a pleasure to have this wonderful capacity. Dont fool around with the all-important aspects of learning smooth connection and disconnection practices with this. Take care, dont yank and pull but go slow. Youll save yourself a lot of trouble by noticing precisely how this device wants to be connected and disconnected. (In the last 20 years, every USB device I ever bought was a little different than every other one--- and they all still work well. Im certain it pays to be faintly obsessive about this part.) I keep all my uncapped USB drives in zipped cases to keep the dust out. Capped, uncapped, somewhat capped: it matters. Some years ago I accidentally sent a Transcend 64 GB flash drive through a washing machine cycle. Because it was securely capped it still works as well as before. So Im just more careful where I take the slide-in varieties like this one. The real question is: how much in the way of educational material, cultural enjoyment, tech-tools and sheer fun would you like to carry around?

> 24 hourIt saved everything I needed and was speedy. I bought another brand at the same time and that one failed and had to be redone while this one was efficient and worked as needed. The only negative was plugging it in to tight spaces on different equipment made the head slide in. I dont like the way it slides in and out. Because of tight spaces and other cables, I couldnt have two fingers on it when plugging it in so it would slide and I couldnt put pressure on it to plug in. Others Ive used I can just push in from the back end but that makes this one close up. You have to hold the slider open on the sides. Its hard to describe, but it made some applications difficult. When I was just using it on the front of my PC, it performed very well. Just transferring the info to other equipment was difficult.

> 24 hourUPDATE: After many days of having issues, I tried to reformat a couple of times with the same results, but then I used the SD Card Association formatting tool, and after it properly partitioned the drive, I got acceptable write speeds (60MB/s average) all over again with any kind of files (a lot of small files, big files, ...). OLD: First days everything was fine, however now Im getting ridiculously slow write speeds of 150KB/s! Kilobytes! Read speed continue at around 60-70MB/s, but I just cant get why the write speed is so abysmally, deficiently and spectacularly slow. Practically cant write anything more, so, in practice it is now a read only drive. This is very weird, I usually like Transcend products a lot, particularly their SD cards and readers, but this situation makes me very sad. I have tried a couple of machine, different operating systems, USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports. Nothing, it just keeps at that speed. Meanwhile I can use a 64GB SD card with a Transcend reader, and get amazing read and write speeds, so this drive is the faulty link on this issue.

> 24 hourExcellent, product and works great storing my information. Only thing is that it does not lock in place when you push it out of the protective sleeve. You have to keep your thumb on the button when you insert it into the usb port on your computer, if you dont it will not seat completely into the usb port (so your computer will not read it) and the flash drive will go back into the protective sleeve. So you have push the flash drive back out and keep your thumb on it to ensure that it is completely seated into the usb port. Other than that one thing, it is a great product.
