Travelpro Maxlite 5 Softside Expandable Luggage with 4 Spinner Wheels, Lightweight Suitcase, Men and Women, Shadow Grey, 3-Piece Set (21/25/29)

Love everything about the suitcase but its size. Its overall exterior height is 20.5 instead of 19. It is 14 wide and 8 deep (not including the small expansion allowed by opening a gusset). It is very light - much lighter than the 19 suitcase it is intended to replace. I love the handles on the top and the side. Overall I really like this suitcase but I am a bit concerned it may not fit in the overhead bins on some domestic flights I take. I twill definitely fit in international bins. I really like this suitcase and want to keep it but may be returning it just because of its size.

Right size for short vacation.

I looked at reviews for a month trying to figure out what kind of luggage to get for my 17 year old daughter who was traveling to Europe without her parents. She would be responsible for carrying everything in the hotels—many without elevators—and lugging it on and off the bus and of course in the airport. They were checking a bag so we had to follow the checked baggage dimensions for her airline. We needed her to be able to carry almost 2 weeks worth of clothes and anything she may need but not be overweight and have room to bring home her souvenirs. A lot for a parent to work through. Finally I chose this bag. It wasn’t the biggest checked bag allowed but seemed big enough for all her stuff. She’s 5’3” and she could maneuver this bag just fine. It was very light. We used a luggage scale and it weighed exactly as advertised. We used luggage cubes but her clothes and shoes, but also packed a sling slack, raincoat, sun hat, toiletries, etc and the suitcase wasn’t even half way full. I panicked that I purchased too big of a bag. She is small and her shoes and clothes are small. After 2 international flights and 4 hotels it’s still very clean and looks almost like new. It had a slight squashed section because a heavy suitcase was probably laying on top of it and hers wasn’t full. But it went back to normal after we opened it and started unpacking. I love it had the extra couple inches if needed and the 2 zipper pockets inside. I honestly feel like she could have packed for 3 weeks or more in here without a problem.

This entire brand of suitcases is incomparable for quality, weigh, construction, and price!

Purchased 29 and 21 to replace comparable 20 yr old counterparts that had worn out. these lightweight and maneuverable pieces are ideal.

Easy to open, close, pack, unpack, roll. Weighs less than its smaller predecessor. Im glad I bought it.

I have all Travel Pro luggage and the 21” carry on is a great addition!

Fits easily in the overhead bin. Love the color.

This is a very large piece of luggage that when fully packed for a month long vacation exceeded the 50 lb weight limit on international flights. As we were a couple travelling with two of these large suitcases, we were able to shift some items into the second piece of luggage. I am concerned that the wheels are very small and although they did not break, I was concerned that they would do so and that they would not be durable in the long run for many trips. When getting off the ship, we encountered a walk way with space between each plank, and the wheels would get stuck between the slats. A big concern is that they would break but they did not break. I would feel better with a piece of luggage that size with eight sturdy wheels and not four of them. This is a great luggage brand but I am skeptical that these wheels are going to last. A broken wheel on a piece of luggage weighing 50 lbs would be a minor disaster for seniors who would not be able to lift them!

Suitcase is very light weight and should hold a lot of clothes. It does have a smell that I cannot get rid of says the inner layer is made out of recycled plastic bottles so not sure if that is why.
