Travelpro Maxlite 5 Softside Expandable Luggage with 4 Spinner Wheels, Lightweight Suitcase, Men and Women, Shadow Grey, 3-Piece Set (21/25/29)

Beautiful luggage and the perfect size for my upcoming international flight.

Suitcase is very light weight and should hold a lot of clothes. It does have a smell that I cannot get rid of says the inner layer is made out of recycled plastic bottles so not sure if that is why.

Allowed me the space and weight to pack for a 4-week, 3-season (cold, balmy, and hot) trip without getting close to airline overweight. Stood up to uneven pavement and cobblestones. Probably won’t last as long as the better made, but much heavier elite line.

Took 3 of these on a two week trip to Japan, traveling across 3 cities with a fair amount of walking and commuting with them. They held up great, no trouble wheeling them around through subways, train stations and lots of sidewalks. The telescoping handle feels really sturdy in all positions, the zippers are solid, and it felt fine packed to the gills. Super happy I bought them!

25” Maxlite 5 The positive; Sturdy, lots of room, doesn’t tip over if packed correctly. Con; does not roll well at all on carpet, gets stuck on cracks, breaks or spaces in concrete and thresholds. Review; I purchased this for checked luggage for air travel for work, when traveling for a full week at a time. I have used this luggage now for two round trip trips and to be honest I wish I would’ve purchased the Platinum Elite now in hopes of it rolling better on all surfaces, not for sturdiness or quality just for rolling. Sturdiness and quality are great so far. The quality of the actual luggage is very nice. I like the inside top zipper compartment and inside side zipper compartment. If it wasn’t for the issues with mobility I would give it 5 stars. After two RT checked flights it still looks new. The weight for each flight checked in was at 41bs and 44lbs. The luggage is built to handle 50lbs, I would hope, but will not roll on carpet with this weight listed it has to be pushed! I did have my computer bag propped on top of the luggage when transporting. When I say pushed I mean pushed straight on pushed on carpet to get to my room! Huge, gigantic fail for me!! When rolling between shuttles to airport or car rental the least snag in the concrete would stop it, I was so aggravated by the second trip I would return it if I could for the Platinum elite in hopes of it performing better on carpet, walkways and blacktop. When I travel for work I like to push/glide my luggage along side me, not this luggage unless you are on smooth tile or similar flat surface. I understand some cracks will stop any luggage but it is a constant struggle even walking inside to the hotel from the concrete outside crossing the threshold of the building it gets stuck. I wish it could be exchanged after I used it for travel because let’s be honest you don’t know until you actually use it in real life circumstances. If I was a man with more muscle this may not be an issue but for me it is. I should not have to struggle to get from point A to point B unless on a smooth surface. Would I recommend this luggage to my Mom, sister, friend or coworkers? The answer is absolutely not!

Went to Great Britain for two weeks and with the packing bags and this suitcase, we were able to travel for two weeks in one bags each! Very light and rolled great.

I bought this to fit the Lufthansa requirements for carry-ons. It is fairly small, but if you pack well it can fit a lot. BE CAREFUL WITH THE EXPANSION ZIPPER. I was careless when I unzipped the expansion and it got stuck on the material and would not open fully. Of course because I’m a procrastinator and packed the night before my flight, I had to just leave it snagged and half open and head to the airport. I was able to fully unzip it once in Italy, but I never could get it zipped up again. But in the poor zipper’s defense I did brutally attack it. I was on a mission. LOL Not a dealbreaker for me. I absolutely LOVED how easy this case was to roll. My first experience with four wheels and I am hooked! The purple color was cute and made it easy to find my luggage at the luggage return wheel. I was so concerned with following the Lufthansa measurements rule but found so many people brought on MUCH BIGGER carry-ons. The only time it was weighed was returning from Germany to the states, but I checked it on the return anyway because I did have a heavier bag on the way home. I mean, who doesn’t buy souvenirs on a once-in-a-lifetime trip? :-)

I originally ordered the larger 29 size but returned it because it seemed way too big and would be too heavy when full. I got the 25 size instead for a two week trip to UK/Ireland. It was the perfect size, easy to handle and really holds a great deal of stuff. I also used packing cubes inside which helps a lot. I also ordered the matching carry on bag that sits on top and velcros to the handle. It was all so perfect and easy to roll. Also I would say the looks are deceiving when you see the 25 size. Maybe its some sort of optical illusion but it holds a great deal. I highly recommend!!!

I have a couple of Travelpro bags including this one. This line represents a fantastic value to quality ratio, IMO. Highly recommeneded.

Love everything about the suitcase but its size. Its overall exterior height is 20.5 instead of 19. It is 14 wide and 8 deep (not including the small expansion allowed by opening a gusset). It is very light - much lighter than the 19 suitcase it is intended to replace. I love the handles on the top and the side. Overall I really like this suitcase but I am a bit concerned it may not fit in the overhead bins on some domestic flights I take. I twill definitely fit in international bins. I really like this suitcase and want to keep it but may be returning it just because of its size.
