Im a frequent flier, both domestically and internationally, and Ive gone through my share of luggage over the years. I now will buy only three brands: Delsey, Samsonite, and TravelPro. Even though all suitcases eventually give out, these three brands last the longest. For that alone, this TravelPro 2-piece is worth the purchase. Of course, if you are considering buying this, theres more to consider. The carry-on size is not quite as deep as my favorite Delsey, but it matches its height, so yes, it WILL fit in the overhead bin. It might be too large for some European airlines, but most will accept this size. Too many carry-ons in just arent big enough. The medium suitcase sizing, however, really surprised me since its much deeper than any other of my suitcases of similar height (24 without the wheels.) The suitcase is 12.5 deep without the extender -- you get an extra 2 of depth when you unzip the extra space, making it perfect if you pack with the zipper closed and then buy stuff at your destination. The carry-on also expands, but I dont find that quite as useful. These TravelPro suitcases have eight wheels each for greater maneuverability. If you want to buy good luggage, dont settle for anything less. While you may not feel the difference on a smooth airport floor, you will in hotel hallways and on sidewalks. You want to be able to move it without tipping the suitcase and pulling harder on it. Even if you do tip it (my husband cant help himself), the handle is sturdy enough to withstand the extra force. The plastic exterior material makes the suitcases lightweight. The sides give without breaking, although due to the expanse of it, the larger suitcase gives more than the carry-on. I do prefer the slightly more rigid material of my Delsey luggage, but because Ive traveled with TravelPro before, I know it will still hold up. I deducted a half-star for the thinner plastic. That said, when you pack the suitcases full or nearly full, they dont give nearly as much as they do when empty. The TSA locks are easy to set, although weirdly TravelPro does not include instructions, just directions on how to open it initially. To set, turn the combination to 0-0-0; press the release button to remove the zipper ends; press in the reset button on the side of the lock box with a pen until it clicks; set to your desired combination; press in the release button again. To lock, insert both zipper ends and twirl the combination to a different number. The key hole is not for your use; it accepts the universal TSA key so that they can search your suitcase if necessary. Like most clam-shell suitcases, these suitcases have a zipper side and a strap-contained side. Since I use packing cubes, I tend to strap them in and use the other side for smaller and looser items such as cosmetics and shoes. If you dont pack them fully, baggage handling can push one side into the other at the zipper. All you need to do is pull it to separate. (This is true of all hard-sided luggage.) I really love that the teal/blue color gives the suitcases a distinctive look without being too flashy. My husband will use these suitcases as readily as I will. Its easy to pick out the color in a sea of black and gray at baggage claim. I added a bright luggage tag to further help me pick it out. Originally, I came to TravelPro because it seemed to be the preferred brand among flight attendants, but now Im a fan after several years of using it myself. Although I still prefer my Delsey suitcases, I find this TravelPro set to be as good as Samsonite, with the sizing making this luggage more desirable than either. You cannot go wrong with this set. -- Debbie Lee Wesselmann

Ive had expensive luggage and cheap luggage, and with frequent-flier abuse they almost all come to the bad end: zippers break, handles get stuck, wheels go wonky. Although my expectations are kind of low to begin with, I do think a set of just 2 bags going for nearly three hundred bucks should be more durable and long-lasting. Right out of the box I am disappointed with this brand. This luggage is extremely lightweight, good for and carrying but at the expense of durability. Calling these hard side bags is a real stretch; true, theyre not fabric, but theyre wafer thin and have almost no texture so every little bump and scratch shows. Ill likely be reserving these bags for road trips only, not as checked baggage for air travel. It has the usual layout inside: a strapped side (strap is not adjustable to tighten, weird) and a zippered side with some net compartments. Wheels roll smoothly in either direction. Integrated TSA lock is a nice feature. Color is a standout and the logo with the Eiffel Tower isnt offensive. Zippers were a hassle from right out of the box, its especially difficult to get them to slide around the corners without using both hands for alignment. Too bad, because one of the reasons I chose this set is because it has the expandable function when you open the second zipper. They all just feel so cheap and like any force will break them. I have another luggage set with 3 pieces thats similar to these in function, but they cot me a hundred dollars less! This brand---or maybe just these 2 bags---is not a good value at all for what youre getting.

    Greater than one week

Nice suitcases, they arrived well packaged and quickly after I ordered. I travel for work quite often so I ordered with that in mind, within the state traveling not internationally. They are the perfect size, an overnight would do with the smaller size and longer trip the medium size accommodates well. For the usage I m currently giving them they are holding up and no scratch or tear and wear this far. I would NOT recommend for international traveling, airports are hard on suitcases and these most likely would break. They are very feminine, love them! UPDATE: after using the smaller suitcase for a few months ( work overnight travel- biweekly) I noticed the handle is loose, the one that when you push goes up and down, pretty disappointed. I am not rough with things and I don’t over pack my suitcases so I’m taking a star for quality of the product after moderate gentle usage.

I absolutely adore the look of this luggage set. The “white” color is more of an off-white/beige, and I love it. I feel fabulous walking through the airport with this set - so chic!!! Both cases are extremely roomy, and the larger one can expand quite significantly to accommodate even more, if needed. The wheels roll and turn smoothly, and I have no issues with maneuverability. The cases alone are also very lightweight. I’m pleased with the built in, TSA approved lock. It did not come with instructions on how to set your own combination, so I had to google it, but was quite easy after that. My only complaint/concern is the longevity and durability of these bags. The hard outer, plastic shell is a lot thinner and bendable than any other hard case luggage I have seen. I worry what will happen after they are tossed around at the airport a few times - especially the larger one, and think my traditional fabric ones may be better used. Overall: looks and functionality 5/5 durability 2/5.

My previous carryon travel bag is a Travelpro and I absolutely love it. Ive had it for a long time and it has held up to some good abuse. However, it is a nylon soft bag and it is showing signs of wear for sure. Ive been wanting a good set of hardshell bags for a while now, though. These hardshell bags are just simply amazing. Everything about them meets the Travelpro quality I expect. I feel like the shell is hard enough to withstand a decent amount of abuse. The bags are very light and easy to maneuver. Handles work great. The locking mechanism is really cool. I have never seen a lock like this, where the zippers lock straight into the side of the bag. Im not sure about durability of the locks yet. There is a small keyhole on each one and no key was included. Im assuming it is some sort of masterkey for the TSA? There was no manual in the bag, just a couple of tags that explained how to set the combo. Nothing about a key. Seems strange. This is probably my only complaint about these bags. Insides are spacious and provide all the straps, pockets, and pouches you should ever need. Plenty enough for me anyways. I love the zipped compartment inside the small bag. Will make it easy to shove clothes in there and keep them there when the bag gets opened. Overall, Im more than thrilled with these bags. Travelpro delivers consistent quality and these are no exception. If you are in the market for some hardbags, I highly recommend you stop looking and get these!

Has a lock on it so you dint have to worry about strangers going through it! Very spacious and high quality. Definitely great for traveling. Traveling by plane? Atleast you can recognize your luggage a mile away! I havent seen a single soul with bags like these. They glide across the floor so graciously , absolutely love!

Just used this luggage on a Vegas trip and rolled it all around The Venetian and it maneuvered really well. It’s beautiful luggage too. I loved that it’s a little shorter than my other luggage and can be a little smaller if you don’t expand it, but it’s still bigger than a carry on. The only thing I wish was different was the strap inside doesn’t tighten and I didn’t have enough things in my luggage to really fill it up so when I shut the one side of the luggage, everything started to fall. Otherwise, this is my new go to luggage.

Talk about quality, durability and overall craftmanship that is knocking it out of the park? Well this does not disappoint! This is what I am talking about for luggage. Get them please! I am so happy I did!!

My zippers broke several times during the course of one trip. I packed my luggage and even opened the extender so it wouldn’t have too much pressure on the zippers. My luggage was also less than 50 pounds so I know it didn’t over pack, but several times throughout my trip I had to unzip and rezip my luggage because the zipper opened where it’s not supposed to. Save your money and buy something else
