> 3 dayI normally use Boye brand aluminum hooks, and I prefer older ones. I ordered this Tulip brand hook after reading reviews of Clover, Tulip, and other hooks looking for a brand to try due to increasing arthritis pain in my hands. I would rather not give my crocheting. I do not own any Clover brand hooks, but from reviews I read, it seems that those hooks are more inline like Bates hooks. I do not like Bates hooks probably because I learned to crochet using a Boye hooks. The Tulip hook is very similarly shaped to the Boye hooks. One difference, at least with this single, #8, 5.0 mms hook, is that the hook is not as deep as my Boye hooks. This should not be a problem if you are using an appropriate hook for the yarn you are using. The handle of the Tulip hook is very nice to hold. It is just enough larger than a plain aluminum hook to help with my arthritis pain. I pencil hold my hooks and the thumb rest is very comfortable. It is just enough of a bump for my thumb to rest against it naturally. The material the handle is made of is soft feeling, but not squishy. Overall, I am very pleased with this Tulip hook. The Tulips do cost more than a Boye hook and are not as easily available in physical stores, but I feel they are worth the price if they help me to continue an art I love. I plan to invest in an entire set as I can.

> 3 dayI am a relatively new crocheter and started with the cheapest hook set because I wasn’t sure if this was a hobby I’d stick with. After a year long learning curve and realizing I *love* to crochet, I thought I’d see what the hype was about the Tulip hooks. The hype is real! This hook makes crocheting so much more comfortable and the movements are smooth as butter. I definitely recommend.

Greater than one weekTulip hooks are my favorite out of all of the hooks I own, or have tried. (I have not tried every brand available.). When I lost one, I was really upset, and was determined to get this same one again. They are a cross between a Susan Bates hook, and Boyle hooks, if you understand the difference between the angle of the hooks between the two brands. (Google if you dont.). Because of that, these are the best of both.

> 3 dayI love the Tulip Etimo crochet hooks. They are very comfortable, which is important for me since I have had several surgeries on both of my hands for thumb joint arthritis and also carpal tunnel on both hands. I would have to give up this hobby if I didnt have these hooks. I have several sets. Theyre expensive but really worth it as they save your hands and prevent pain from pro-longed use. I have tried Clover Amore and they are OK but the yarn doesnt glide as smoothly as when I use the Tulip Etimos. Im so glad I found these!

07-06-2025These are my favorite hooks, I try to use them any chance I get. They are soft, and comfortable. I do like purchasing them separately so I don’t end up with sizes I won’t use and it’s cheaper this way. rather than spending over $100 for 5 hooks.
