Tie dye made easy with beautiful results. My only complaint is that the tray that holds the tie dyed item for microwaving is rather small - this makes it hard to put the dyed item in there without overlapping parts of it, which caused some of the dyes to bleed into areas that werent supposed to be that color. Overall though, this was still a lot easier and faster than other tie dye methods used. For kids who want a fun project and who arent expecting for perfect results, this was great.

Lots of dyes. Great colors. The grandkids loved it and had a mot of fun. We made 4 size small youth t-shirts (for 9 and 8 year olds) and have plenty left over to make more. Loved the microwave aspect which really sped the process up. The bottles leak though so be careful. Otherwise just great!!

This was such a fun little project for my 4 year old and I. I helped her with the rubber bands but she was able to do the rest. You may want to get your own rubber gloves though. The ones provided are one size fits all and were huge for both my kido and I.

I bought this kit to make shirts for my toddler. We set everything up in the kitchen, and the process was fairly simple. The microwave process makes the “curing” much quicker. I only wish there were more of the containers. We cheated a little, and removed the shirts from the containers before the 15 minute “rest/cooling” period was up. The dye bottles are small, which is fine for the price. I was able to make 7 toddler-size tees, but the last shirt was a stretch. I’d find it hard to imagine there’s enough dye for 9 adult-size items, so err on the side of caution. Overall, super pleased with our results and experience!

This was our first time doing tie dye, and it was very successful! Our 2 kids ages 6&7 helped with their shirts and they loved it. We used every drop of color from every bottle and did 4 adult shirts, 6 small kids shirts, and 2 pairs of kids shorts. The colors are so vibrant! We went by the directions and got them wet, wrung out well, tied (we used zip ties and rubber bands). Then microwaved each item in a container, waited 20 minutes to cool, rinsed with cold water until water was clear, then filled other sink with hot tap water and a drop of tide and hand washed for a couple minutes and rinsed well with hot. Wrung out very well and hanged to air dry. I changed out hot water with most individual items since I was only filling sink 1/3 up. Also, since we dyed them all at the same time, I just kept them all on their racks until I could microwave the next item, which was at most a couple hours and used a spray bottle to spray a little water on it before microwaving to make sure it didn’t scorch.

I think I would let the dye soak in longer. We did the 2-minute microwave and I feel like after you washed the shirt the ink faded a lot. I ordered two kits and one of the kits had the green powder leak and go all over everything in the box so it was a mess to clean up before we could use any of the other colors.

I ordered a set of just the containers (4) and a dye kit. The set of 4 was missing one, and only one of the 3 containers would close properly. The dye kit, the containers closed, havent used the dye yet. If youre doing a ton of shirts, do it the old fashioned way because otherwise stopping between shirts to microwave is going to eat your time. Otherwise grab a buddy and make a tight system. I will say, the shirts I did came out brighter and seemed to lose less color in the wash. BUT I did use a soda ash soak- but they say that isnt needed as it is in the dye. IDK. I use a different brand more often and havent experimented with Tulip nearly as much.

I had so much fun making 4 t-shirts this morning. Colors were great and the t-shirts came out awesome!
