> 3 dayI am totally bought into the UniFi suite of networking products now. Yes they are expensive but they provide consistent speeds, wide wireless range, advanced security and a large number of devices can connect at once without affecting each other.

> 3 dayI bought one of these as an upgrade to more professional-level Wi-Fi gear and have generally been quite happy with it for the past two years. However a week ago the 2.4 GHz radio failed, not completely (as at least that would be easy to detect.) Instead, it will work for about a minute or two, then drop to zero signal for about a minute, then return. If you have IOT devices that will retry, thats fine; if you have something like a security camera, that needs to send data NOW, it means they will somewhat randomly drop off the network, likely when you need network access the most. Since the warranty is one year, Im now left with the dilemma as to whether to spend another $300+ on another one, or just leave it as a 5 GHz access point only until better WiFi 6 products are released from Ubiquiti or other vendors. Great device, but that rare case where I wish I had spent a little extra for an extended warranty; it would have paid for itself this time around.

> 3 dayI am a huge fan of Ubiquitis Unifi line of networking products and have the Unifi Security Gateway, the Cloud Key Controller, and 4x Access Points (2xLite and 2X Pro), so having read various reviews and posts on the UBNT forums, I thought Hmmmm I need this, so ordered it. The box was plain cardboard, not the glossy cardboard (apple style) that other Unifi Products have been and when I opened it I discovered the POE Injector has a Cloverleaf plug lead and a.... EUROPEAN 2 Prong plug, NOT a UK plug! (Inexcusable!) Anyway, I had a spare lead so replaced one of the my UAP Pros with this and looked into my Cloud Key Controller and adopted the device (Unifi Users are nodding their heads right now!), then got a STUN failure message, so I upgraded the firmware and it went away (Phew!), BUT I am a beta tester and tried to do a Custom install of the Beta as I have on my other devices.... Nope. its not having that! All other devices are on v3.9.14.7960 but this seems intent on remaining with 3.7.35.6029 ?? So I decided to test it, and discovered although technically it should blow the AC Lite and AC Pro Away, it simply doesnt. So far I have to admit I am underwhelmed.... :( I wil update this review over the next few moths or so. *****UPDATE 22/12/17 ***** Ok so I thought it only fair to update my review, it turns out with later firmware this Access Point becomes a beast, literally blowing the 2x Lites and 2xPro that I have out the water, the 3x CPUs give it some real horsepower and it never breaks into a sweat. Some people will try to tell you that the HD in the titles means it has less throughput than the Pros etc, simply not true, testing with a 2016 12 MacBook gives connection speeds of 1300Mbps and transfer speeds in the region of 650-800Mbps this is with 7 devices connected to it. I am tempted to replace the three UAPS on the ground floor with one of these as the range is also superb. For the fun of it (and because I can), I tried Link Aggregation from a Unifi Switch to the HD and it worked! Downsides? Its quite a bit bigger than the Pro and immensely bigger than the Lites, so can dominate a ceiling. If you are fed up with your current Wifi setup, or feel you need more speed, I would definitely recommend Unifi and definitely recommend this Access Point. Update 26/1/18 If anything with each Unifi Firmware update this gets better and better, for now i am trying to resist replacing at least one of the other UAPs with one of these, but thats only due to the cost involved. The whole Unifi System continues to impress me and give trouble free, fast and secure networking (I am up to 10 Unifi devices now!), if I was just starting to invest in the Unifi ecosystem, this would be the Wifi Access point I will pick, as it is more powerful and more future proof than the others.

> 3 dayI have had this product for 7 months now and it is very solid. Unifi takes getting used to but overall the signal is good and stable. However, for better performance, I would recommend having 2 AC Pros or two Nanos as this alone wouldnt provide adequate cover for the whole house. The best use case would be for a big open space with lots of clients. I have solved my problem by adding a couple of Flex HDs now I have a very strong signal all over my house
