Needed a few rolls of S-423 for an upcoming move, but not the 18 minimum qty from Uline. Was a little hesitant to buy from a reseller, due to reviews from others having gotten old stock, but these rolls look and perform like new. A lot of people complain that its thin (2mil vs 3+mil with other tapes) but the thicker a tape is, the less conformable it is to a surface, and the more difficult it is to get full adhesion on anything but perfectly flat, fully supported items. When it comes to packing and taping boxes, this stuff is miles ahead of Scotch Heavy Duty shipping tape, which had been my go-to until I came across some S-423 at work. It does have a strong, vinegar like smell as it comes off the roll, but it goes away almost instantly. I honestly dont mind it, but I can see it being off-putting for a lot of people.

The tape rolls dont even have Uline logo anywhere, it smells terrible, the tape is really thin, and it crumples easily to point where to have to rip it off constantly. I compared this to the other Uline 3 in tape I received (only difference is width) and the real Uline tape is much thicker and stickier! I would avoid this at all cost. Not worth playing lottery of hoping to get a box of Uline tape.

This tape is a hassle to use, you have to use 3 times as much and it still peels up off the packages. It is VERY thin and tears a lot when trying to use it. I am fighting with this tape more than getting my work done. I prefer the thicker Uline tape compared to this, it is just too thin and I am wasting money by having to use more of it to be sure that my packages are sealed properly.

I use this tape for crafting with cardboard. It’s sticky.

This tape is not worth buying if you do regular shipping. As other reviews, it smells and is difficult to work with as it breaks and splinters with or without a tape dispenser. I have purchased uline tape in the past directly from uline and dont recall having the issue. If i could give 0 stars I would.

I bought the 6 pack about a year ago and Im now down to the last roll....and I am glad to be finally done with ULINE. We used to order ULINE S-423 tape at work all the time, which is why I went with them for my personal purchase. I always wondered why they stopped ordering the tape at work, and now I know why. The durability is just not the same. The ULINE tape I remember used to be very durable. The rolls I received? The tape is so thin and delicate that it would constantly snap or tear mid packing....and if the edge reattached to the roll by accident? Good luck. 8 out of 10 times you will have to sacrifice some of the tape as you try to separate the edge because the tape would rip again and you would have to start over. The only positive I noticed was that the adhesive quality of the tape is still excellent, but thats bout it. The tape is so thin that you need to go around a package twice to get the same secure seal as going around once with 3M tape. Why? because while the adhesive properties are excellent, the tape is so thin that 1 good tug with your hand and the box snaps open because the tape breaks. My opinion? Pay a couple of bucks extra and go for the 3M tap 6 pack. Sure, youll only get about 55 yards instead of 110, but you will waste less of it since you only need to go around once when packing, so it works out to about the same. Pros: - Price - Adhesion (Sticks VERY well) Cons: - Tape is too thin (You have to go around twice to get the same durability as 1 go around with 3M tape) - Poor Durability (3M tape tears a lot less and is easier to pry from roll of the end sticks to the roll)

Four attempts to get this thin tape to work with the U-Line tape gun. Tape just splits down the middle and breaks off the roll - sending it all back.
