The stem part wobbles like its loose. Hope it doesnt break. The protection is perfect as a matter of a fact better then I expected. Just feels too wobbly.

Update - As of May 2020, this little umbrella is still working great. I did purchase a white one from another brand which was a bit larger, but the mechanism did not work as smoothly as this one, so am going for the white in this brand for a summerier look. Also, I find I prefer the smaller footprint of this one, it fits better in bags, purses, etc. FYI - original purchase was March 2018. Excellent sun protection and a hardy umbrella. I wear a hat. A face shield, or use this umbrella every day. Ive opened and shut it at least a 100 times so far, shoved it in my briefcase, tossed it in the back seat when in a hurry, and caught it on a rose bush I was picking up and it is still working fine. Ive only used it once for rain, but it worked just fine.

This is a review based on initial out of the box observation, indoors, of the product I received and have not yet had the opportunity to test outside. Its a perfect size for one person (maybe two). Im 56 and weigh 120lbs. I didnt want anything too big because if at an outdoor social gathering, I dont want to run the risk of poking anyone standing nearby. The spines dont stick straight out but curve down slightly when the canopy is fully open. Mechanically it works as described (meaning the push button to full open position and to collapse the canopy) though it does take a little muscle to push it closed (to slide the stem back down into its base handle). The weight of the umbrella seems good too, not too heavy. Weight was a consideration when I bought it. I have shown it to friends who also like its size and the protection from the sun it offers. I love the color (Silver/Pink).

Took to Egypt and it was great to keep the hot sun off me. I was able to pack it in my crossbody bag and use as needed.

I do not want to get sunburn so I carry this umbrella around with me everywhere! It is lightweight and provides great shade! Plus, when those afternoon summer showers come, I am prepared to use it to stay dry! You can’t go wrong with this umbrella!

Great umbrella that makes me feel safe from harmful sunlight and rain. The automatic push open button and mechanism can get caught sometimes and I would have to fiddle with it a bit to get it back to normal, but nothing broken.

I bought this for my wife as we spend much time doing volunteer work in a sunny area. With this umbrella, she is protected and happy. Others involved in similar volunteer activity have used it with satisfaction.
