I had to replace a previous one that had the plastic hook, this is metal much better option .Sturdy material

Easy to fix as good as new and no wasteful replacement needed!

We have three shade curtains on the patio and due to freezing temperatures, high winds or whatever, one side or the other will need to be replaced every other year or so. I find i can remove the connector and leave the bracket attached to the patio. Then i just replace the broken ratchet part connecting it to the bracket by screws and reinstall the curtain.
