Use the window seal it comes with for the slider gap and just order thicker weather seal to go over border of window kit.

Simple to install works perfectly

I bought this kit over a month ago and just got around to installing it today. I saw right away that one of the panels had a 5 crack at one of the slider edges when I took it out of the box. Too late to return it now and I was desperate to get my portable AC unit installed, so I went with it. It is still functional and I will have to take care of that issue in the near future. Other than that, it was pretty easy to put together and install.

Doesnt seal at all or hold in any of the cold air your bringing in from fan I dont recommend it unless you are just wanting to keep the bugs outside by having window or slider mostly shut

We returned the item, as it was not what we needed.

The original kit that came with my air conditioner was way too short to fit my window. Apparently air conditioner manufacturers think no window should be more than 2 ft tall. Works great, remains stable, and is a decent price.

Item is just what I wanted. Good quality for the price.

These slid right into place and worked really well for my window.

Its not bad construction, but there are issues unsolved with this solution. First, the window is open meaning hot/cold outside air will hit the sliding window and be forced up behind the fixed window right into the room. Second, the channels do not block hot/cold air, either. The outside air hits the seal kit and passes unimpeded into the room. They could have solved that with a notch that fit into the channel ahead of the metal plate. Last, the sides of the kit are thin material making it impossible to secure the sealing foam and block air from passing around the kit. 3 flaws there. And, why did they send 5 sets of plate/screws?? The installation 5x7 is totally insufficient.
