U.S. Art Supply 9 x 12 Premium Heavy-Weight Paper Spiral Bound Sketch Pad, 90 Pound (160gsm), Pad of 30-Sheets (Pack of 2 Pads)

I like the weight and texture of this paper but the paper is not white. It is a pale lavender. Ill find some other use for these pads, probably as junk paper to mess around with. The picture attached is the paper on my white desk. Honestly, my worst purchase of any art supplies purchased through Amazon.

These sketchpads had great weight to them and made a good gift

I recieved this sketch pad for free to try and review; regardless this is my 100% honest opinion. This tablet is a nice large 9X12 slightly larger than a standard writing notebook and true to size. It does have holes for the top spiral binding so it does loose about 1/2 of useable space from that. It is not perforated so the pages wont fall out on their own, but they could still be torn or cut out if you would like. The paper is an off white color, not the bright white but more like a recycled or washed out light grey coloring....not bad but not true or bright white. This is different as other pads I have tried by this company have been more of a light cream color so this might make a difference if you are using colored mediums and want to know what color the starting paper is. The cover says that it is a 90lb weight, and though it is heavier than most papers I have no way of verifying that it truly is. I can say that it is thick enough that you can definately use gel pens and most felt tips without it bleeding through. It feels like kids construction paper for thickness comparison. The paper has a slight texture to it, it is not perfectly smooth but the texture is not super rough either. There is a smaller size:

I like this sketchbook much better than the last US Art Supply sketchbook I reviewed. (B00PG78X7Y) Unlike the last one this one erases very well! It doesnt leave eraser marks. The paper doesnt peel up with multiple color layers and intense shading. The graphite has no issues sticking to this paper like it should. It can smear if Im not careful but nothing excessive. This paper is heavy enough that it doesnt leave impression marks behind the piece Im working on. This paper works exactly how I need it to. I really like the price point of this book. When were ready I will buy the three for $11.96 deal. My daughters also enjoy art so this is a good bundle for us. This will become a staple in our art supplies. This is currently my favorite sketchbook this size. For larger sizes I prefer the Canson (B0039UMRMW).
