Update: with use, I have seen several chunks of sheets glued together and is very difficult to separate them to the point some of them may rip. when received these pads had a very tight plastic paper over it. Maybe they were tightened for a long time. On the good side: Nice paper, ample quantity, although a little on the fine side so you cant use water on it. Better fit for pencil and ink sketching-which is advertised except , I guess for watercolors due to the fine paper. I have used with varied size nib fountain pens and it works well even with stub nibs. Good for writing short notes or letters with fountain pens,. For those looking for Tomoe River paper to use with fountain pens, use this instead. I have been sketching with pencils and the surface is pleasant for writing with the graphite.

These pants are good for practice, what I wouldnt commit a peace destined for sale or display on this pad. The paper in the pan is listed as white, but its more of a cream color. The sheets are relatively thin and the cover is just a very thin piece of cardboard so it wont stand up on its own as other pads will with heavier covers when spreading it open. I had it open to a piece I was working on and had to lean it very gently on something behind it so I can see the drawing, and the paper crinkled from what it was very gently leaning on. It also has a little more tooth than my regular pad that I prefer, the Piccadilly wire-o sketchook, but that could be good in certain situations. Its an okay pad for practice.
