Vera Bradley Convertible Garment Bag

> 24 hourThis is such a great idea! I often have clothing I want to pack more carefully than folded in an open bag, so a duffle bag is not enough of a structure for me. I also like to take the rest of my clothes out and put in a drawer, so that it isnt packed so tightly that it will wrinkle. Because this bag answers both these needs, it is perfect for me. I can hang dresses and blouses, zip them into the garment bag, and fold the remainder of my clothes and put them in the duffle bag, along with other items, then zip the entire bag up at each end, and my garment bag is a duffle bag, which is easy to maneuver and carry (with the handles or shoulder strap). There are both a zip pocket and a slip pocket on the outside, and two on the inside flaps (at the shoulders of the garment bag section). The outer fabric is a very sturdy synthetic, and the interior is a lovely print, worthy of a Vera Bradley bag. The only thing I find lacking, one which surprised me, since the design is so thoughtful, is that there is no provision for fastening the bag together in the folded configuration for storage. I solved that problem by using a Grifiti Band Joes Silicone Rubber Band to hold it together. Thank you for reading my review. I hope you found it helpful.

> 24 hourI found this to be a poor use of space. Yes it zips up into the duffle looking carry case but its bulky and really doesnt hold what you would think it does. I found it to be awkward and with all my travel couldnt be bothered. I donated mine.

> 24 hourGorgeous bag, will be so great to travel with! Update: I finally got the opportunity to travel with this bag so I wanted to make my review more accurate. This bag is absolutely amazing. It is an all in one travel bag. Completely unzipped, it starts as a garment bag to hold your hanging clothes. There are a few hanger slots. Once you get your hanging items situated, then you start zipping up the bag. It zips itself into a duffle type bag. Inside the bag on both sides are two secure plastic pouches to store your toiletries, then ample room to hold everything else if you’re only traveling for a couple days. There are also pouches on the outside. Then there are handles and a padded shoulder strap. The outside is a sleek black and the inside has a gorgeous pattern. When you’re finished traveling, it all folds nicely to tuck away in a corner. My only complaint would be that there’s really no way to secure it in itself when folded, so if you don’t have a tight corner, it comes unfolded and takes up more space. But all in all, it’s an absolutely amazing bag and makes me feel spectacularly fancy! I’m definitely more of a yard sale girl than a Vera Bradley girl, so it makes me feel fancy to have such a luxurious bag when I travel with my management team!

> 24 hourThis Vera Bradley Convertible Garment Bag is well-designed and will keep a suit or formal dress safe or wrinkle free even while its being used as a duffel bag. Its durable-feeling and not too heavy. The detachable shoulder strap is very sturdy. I also like that it comes in a black option which still has a Vera Bradley floral pattern on the inside. The only thing I dont like about it is that while it can serve as your carry-on bag to put into an overhead bin, its slightly too large (collapsed or as a duffel) to be the personal item that airlines allow in addition to a carry-on. Expanded, its 14 inches high, 20 inches wide and 9 inches deep. The maximum dimensions for most airline personal items is smaller than that (usually around 18 x 14 x 8).

> 24 hourVery well made, and works well as a combo garment bag/duffle bag. This item is pretty large, much wider than my checked mid-size suitcase, and can get heavy if you fill it to size!

> 24 hourI picked this out for business trips when I wanted my suit to travel without wrinkles. It is always stressful to try and use a hotel iron. This Vera Bradley garment bag which will fit a suit and a dress, with lots of room and pockets for extras. I love that it’s compact enough to carry on the plane and lightweight enough to manage in confined spaces and lug through airports. Once in your room, you can hang the whole bag, like any other garment bag—so convenient. Unless it’s a short trip, you will need more luggage, but this is a genius solution for business travel. I have the black, and I am happy to say that it’s a good-looking bag.

> 24 hourLove this Vera Bradley convertible garment bag! The best part is the way you can securely attach it to your carryon luggage and not worry about it falling off. As a professional who travels often with my colleagues, I prefer the solid black exterior color, but appreciate the usual Vera Bradley pattern on the inside. It’s a nice touch of style.

> 24 hourYet, ANOTHER perfectly designed bag from VERA BRADLEY ! planning a trip and taking a dress or 2; possibly an extra coat & shoes?? This bag has it ALL COVERED. Plus, don’t forget the inventive ‘trolley sleeve’ which converts to pocket with a zipper close.

> 24 hourThis may be the ultimate travel bag. Its both garment bag and small duffle-style carry-on bag, and its really ingenious. Its well made, as all Vera Bradley items Ive ordered have been, and has enough pockets and compartments that it will accommodate a wide range of needs. The bag deserves a design award for cleverness and execution!
