The Yolink uses LoRa connectivity which has been for me way more reliable than any of my WiFi connected devices. While I have not tested this switch over a quarter of a mile I do have another YoLink on my mailbox which is quite some distance from the house and it reliably notifies me when the mail shows up. I did have a problem with one of my switches which was quickly cleared up by the Yolink support as I had inadvertently miss wired a switch. The switch plays very easy with Alexia.

Ive bought a lot of IoT widgets over the past few years. Rarely does one configure and work the first time. This is the exception-configuration of the hub, this switch, and a motion sensor was seamless, and I did not run into any issues. The YoLink app works great, but to really get the most out of it, control it using Routines from the Alexa app-from there you can have finer control of the operation of the devices. Want the light to only come on when the motion sensor triggers in the evening? Done! Want the light to automatically turn off after 15 minutes? Done! Want to shorten the on duration in the middle of the night? Done! Want to interoperate with other non-YoLink equipment? Done. I cant wait to build out the rest of my system with YoLink components. I didnt see this anywhere in the specs, but note that the switch fits a common Decorator-style switch plate, so you can integrate it physically with other standard switches.

When paired with motion sensors (or manually /w smartphone), my switch is part of an electronic team to (among other things) light/darken zones as people/things move through. Exactly what I needed.

Over the last few months finding out and learning about yolink products I ordered several wall Switchs and installed one in the bath room and two in the garage. They work perfect! In the garage removed my existing switch and installed a yolink one. I was able to set the switch to auto turn off after 5 hours of it being on (seeing that i am very seldom in the garage longer then that in one setting and at least if the lights are left on over the weekend it will get turned off automatically). Then I installed a second yolink by the other door into the garage. The second switch is just power to the yolink switch only it does not control any device. I then did Direct 2 Device pairing of both switches. I had to do this trice. One Pairing one direction and then paired the switches in reverse. By doing this both switches stay in sync so when I turn one on the other also goes on. And the same in reverse when one goes off the other goes off. All of this was done without the need of internet or even a yolink hub. Now I also have the garage door sensor for both of my garage doors. I then configured some automations and settings to track the garage doors open. If one door opens then the lights come on automatically. And if both doors close (and both have to be closed not just one) the lights will then go out! Then the I installed another switch in by bathroom to replace the exhaust fan switch. I also place a temp / humidity yolink sensor in the bathroom. Now when someone takes a shower and the humidity gets above say 90 the fan kicks on automatically! And turns off once it drops down again. Its magic! But if someone just needs to use the restroom and they want the fan on they can manually turn it on and off like normal.

After dealing with zwave, this was a breeze. Hooked it up and it worked in under five minutes.

I had a Lutron Caseta switch that was working fine but way outside the 30ft range it is specified for. With the 1000ft range on the Yolink, I thought this would be a more reliable solution. Once installed, the switch shows a Good signal in the app but the switch is responsive about 50% of the time. The light gets left on all night after an off command is sent, or it doesnt come on frequently when on commands are sent. Putting the Lutron back and returning this.
