Used it on my PS4 , very easy to use

Absolutely loved it when I first got it but after 8 months of moderate use connected to a ps4 pro, the hard drive died on me. I usually buy the square trade warranty with the external hard drives that I get but I dropped the ball and didnt for this particular device. I have two other 1 tb hard drives (both WD) that are still in use and are older but Im sorely disappointed that this one died so soon. If you want to take a risk, dont be like me and opt for the extended warranty.

I love this item. Should have bought it months ago! Super easy to use and install and works perfect for a PS4 for extra HDD space.

Hopefully we dont run into problems with the data storage down the road, but my initial review is that this works well, and it is very easy to install. As I understand you need to remove this device through the PS4 onscreen menu before shutting down the PS4 so that the data doesnt get corrupted, just like you would with a flash drive on a computer. We are being very careful with this, but a couple of times the PS4 was accidentally unplugged by our robot vac and there was no problem seen upon restart. So far so good, and for the price it was well worth it to expand the PS4 by 4X its original memory.

This gaming drive looks great tucked next to my PS4 and having the extra drive space is really nice as digital content games get larger and larger. I also really like that this can be used on a pc also. If this outlasts my ps4 gaming days, it can still be useful as a portable USB storage device.
