Works well with the PS5. Easy to install. I installed it with a Jonsbo M.2-3 Heat Dissipation Radiator. Use one thin (grey) and one thick (White) heat pad to install to get the ideal fit and circulation. Working like a charm so far. Getting 6500mb/s speed and works just as good as the PS5s internal HDD... No lags, performance drops or increase in load times.

Western Digitals Dashboard program/app need to have the SN850 set to Game Mode (reboot required), the motherboard needs to support PCIe Gen4 and 4 channels in the M2 slot, the CPU needs to support PCIe Gen 4, the motherboard firmware setting for the M2 slot needs to be set to enable Gen4.

Je lai acheté pour ma PS5, une fois installé, la console le formate et le test, il a une lecture de 6100 mo/s par rapport au Samsung 980 Pro qui est de 6900 mo/s. Ce nai évidemment que mes test à moi et je pense que ça naura aucun impact sur les jeux.

I bought this for my PS5 Digital version. I looked on YouTube for reviews before purchase and this came across as a solid investment. The speeds are on the higher side of those out there and it is a Gen 4 with heatsink. I caught this on sale during Amazon Day and wow was it a great deal. First off are the speeds. There is enormous difference between Gen 3 and 4 and I guess that’s why Sony made that requirement. I had almost 300 GB of games on initial hard drive, and it transferred to the new drive in less than 2 minutes(insanely fast). The new Gen 4 drives are fast, but they do get hot so spend a little extra for the heatsink version. Extremely easy to install and I can see nothing at fault with this investment. Great price point with impressive performance makes this on the better drives out there. The last thing that does not get talked about enough is that this fits the Disc and Digital version PS5. There are Brands out there that make drives just for the PS5, but they only fit the DISC version. You cannot go wrong with this one since it fits both versions plus PC builds even with the heatsink. Great investment.

I got this to install Windows 11 in dual boot in conjunction with Windows 10. After installing Windows 11 and switching back to Windows 10, the Windows 10 operating system detected errors on the SN850 SSD and ran disk repair upon reboot which caused the OS on the SN850 to no longer boot. This happened twice -- once with the original install then again with the reinstall. After much frustration, I updated to the the firmware on the SSD (firmware version 613200WD as of July 24, 2021) using the Western Digital Dashboard utility program available from the Western Digital support website and also updated to the latest firmware on the motherboard and the SSD seems to be working fine now.

Good value for a top performer

Bought for PS5 internal storage extension. Compared with Samsung 980 Pro, this was a couple of hundreds cheaper and was higher rated and recommended in several online reviews on PS5 / gaming review websites.
