This product is fantastic! When I purchased my PS3 it had little to no storage for anything. I looked around and found this, it came quick and with no damage to the box or product. Once I opened the case, the instructions where simple. In about two or three minutes I had it installed and ready to go. Now I can play the games I bought with the system. Would highly recommend for anyone needing storage.

Great HDD. Until a Sony firmware update, decides otherwise, and bricks your PS3. Yes, this HDD will work perfectly well with your PS3. Until a firmware Update, decides it doesnt like it, and your system gets toasted. So, if this happens, dont think its the HDD that bricked your console... Its simply due to negligence on Sonys behalf. Yes, the HDD that youre ordering will not be the exact one listed and shown. Yes, it is falsely advertised, and the HDD will not only be a different one but, slightly used. Aside, the all that... This is a good HDD.

Not going to lie, I socked my ps4 and my ps4 started acting up and I couldnt power it up anymore. I read online and I had to download and reinstall the latest update on a flash drive. (It didnt work because the ps4 said cannot find storage space). Bought this and tried it again and the ps4 is as good as new! :D

I ordered this hard drive to use on my playstation 3, obviously, but it didnt seem to work. I always got an error about how an appropriate storage system couldnt be found. I have tried every solution on the internet to no avail, until I discovered that not only is it much shorter than the original drive, but that one of the ports looks totally different! (original on the right, new on the left in the pictures) so the only explanation I can see is that this hard drive does NOT work on a ps3.

*Update* I was able to remove the mounting bracket from the other hdd and use the 500gb! It fit flawlessly! I had to download the ps3 software update, download it to a usb flash drive, plug the flashdrive into the ps3 and let the game do the rest. *Very important* Although this is a 500gb hdd, Im only able to use 465gb. With all storage devices (hdd, flash drive, micro sdhc, sdhc, etc..) a user will never be able to have the entire amount of storage space for technological reasons (research it on google if you really want to know). In short, the hdd works and Im glad.
