Greater than one weekI gave this rattle as a gift in a baby shower and they held it from gift opening to waving good by... Unconciously rattling and twirling it the entire time. Its very smooth solid wood but I cant vouch for actual teething because my niece wont be born until July and not start teething till after that.... obviously. I would worry about the dogs getting a hold of it as sticks are sticks. But its adorable and can entertain 30 yr olds in a deep instinctal way.
