World of Eric Carle, The Very Hungry Caterpillar Apple Play Set and Shape Sorter Developmental Toy

My granddaughter who is 20 months old just loved this item. She has the matching book and recognized it the moment we opened it. She carries it around every day.

This item appears wonderful but what I find most upsetting is that the age range on the package says +12 months while in your description it says 3 months to 3 years. Now I have to wonder if I need to return the toy that is supposed to be appropriate for my 3 month old grandson...

Our 4-month old is just starting to grab and currently enjoys grabbing the caterpillar and putting it in his mouth. Hes also starting to hold the fruits but cannot really shake or squeeze them yet. I can picture that once he figures that out, learns to put the caterpillar through the hole and open and close the apple, this toy will provide hours of play for a few more months. The apple and fruits appear to be made of nice quality materials. The apple is a nice way to store the other pieces. The velcro really holds the top in place.

So cute! I gifted this to multiple friends with newborns. The pieces are soft and the different textures are playful and fun.

Used it for a homemade bean bag game and it was a hit. Perfect for party fun. Used the apple itself for the goody bags for the piñata. Washed bean bags and durable.

Each of the pieces of fruit either had a different texture or can be squeezed to produce a sound. This is perfect for teething, following along during story time, and sensory play. I would buy it again.
