> 3 dayThe coupler from the motor to the pump on my Yellow Jacket vacuum pump broke from old age. What to do? I searched online and found that Amazon had a seller for the part. It was ordered and showed up within days. I looked it over and thought the wrong part had been sent to me--it looked a little different. It had the correct ends and was the correct length so I figured out that Yellow Jacket had made improvements to the coupler. End story is it fits perfect and the pump works great--thank you much!

> 3 dayBuy this updated part from Yellow jacket. The original part (same part number) is a plastic/rubber sleeve that goes around the two shafts. Really poor design but nice to see Yellow Jacket step up and update the design and at a very reasonable price. If you have the sleeve type, replace it sooner rather than later. How do you know the sleeve type failed. It is the quietest electric motor and the pump is dead silent.

> 3 dayMy vacuum pump original coupling finally let go. This was a nice quality and quick to install replacement and took about 20 minutes to change! Now its back in action.

> 3 dayMy older Yellow Jacket vacuum pump stripped out the existing drive coupling. The original design was fairly poor. A plastic (or similar material) bushing connected the motor drive to the pump drive via small ridges on the inside of the bushing which lined up with ridges on the drives. Excessive heat, age or both caused the plastic to warp and crack which resulted in no more vacuum pump. I was very happy to see this kit. It replaces both the drive connections and replaces the cheesy plastic bushing with a much more positive and robust connection/locking system. Hard to describe unless you see it, but reminds me of Tetris :)
