I got this cable to go from my Synology NAS to my main 1 Gbps switch. Since my internal network is still only 1 Gbps, I was only able to test transfer speeds up to that point and was not able to verify transfers up to 40 Gbps as advertised. However, I get near line speed transfers with my current switch, interface and this cable. The cable future proofs my desire to put a 10 Gbps switch in place and get a 10 Gbps interface on the NAS.

These are relatively flat, but with the cloth cover they are thicker than some other flat cables. The shielding and extra twists for Cat8 level make these a somewhat stiff cable and the anti-snag feature means you cant bend the cable directly off of the connector very well so if you need to make a sharp right angle turn just away from the jack, it wont work very well without an adapter to make the right angle.

First, a very well made Cat 8 cable. Nicely woven jacket, premium connectors (See pic). I always wondered if I was limiting my speeds with my older ethernet cables, so I decided to give this cable a try. This Cat 8 cable was excellent. It maxed out my available internet speeds. See pic 3. I then tried a Cat 7 cable. Again, it maxed out my available internet speeds. See pic 4. I then tried a Cat 5e cable not a cat 5 (speeds up to 1000mbps with 5e) and again it maxed out my available internet speeds. See pic 5. So clearly, these cables were all up to the task for my limited needs, for now. But frankly, Cat 8 is made for much higher speeds and frequency than a home user will typically see at this time. BUT, the future may hold even greater speeds for the home user, so I would say to buy this if you want to future proof your cabling. After all, its around the same price as similarly made older standard cat cables, so why not buy this instead of the older tech !

You can see from the image attached the thickness vs some competitor/amazon basic Cat6 cables. For the price of $10/15-feet, this seems like a real bargain and the quality is in fact quality sheathed and STP terminated (requires your switch to be properly grounded as well or else you gain zero benefits of using such a cable).

Upgrading my ethernet and needed some newer faster cables. This plugged in and worked great from a networking perspective. What I really liked was the cable is flat and very flexible. Almost has a cloth like feel to it. 10 ft is a perfect length for me and it being Cat 8 for under $10. IMO, a great price point for a 10ft CAT8 cable. It was so easy to route around my desk because it is so flexible. The ends feel nice and secure and had no mfg defects.

The cable feels heavy duty with the breaded covering. I got this to replace a old cat 5 cable that i had connected to my fire stick. I only get 60 mbps for internet. With the old cable I did a speed test and got 36 download and 6 upload. With the new cable it was about the same. It must be the fire stick limitations I tested out 2 firesticks. One of them was the latest model. - I did a speed test on my computer in that is in the same room and got 60 download. In general I recommend the cable.

You can never have too many cat cables. One is always lost or damaged or in use so it never hurts to make sure you have extras. I prefer to hardwire devices when I can to the network instead of bogging down my home WiFi signal. This was great!
