These lights felt cheap, the remote did not work. They look nothing like the picture.

Bought for kids room, work great and look great. They love them. Weve bought a few different brands for all the kids and theyve all seemed to work great. They do tangle easy but once they are hanging they are good

Listen. I have wanted to have string lights in my bedroom since I was very small, okay? So I have had a really, really long time to look forward to this, and to endlessly shop around by length/color/functions/power source, and to read all the reviews, both good and bad. I was very deliberate when I picked these, and my hopes for them were very high. There was a lot of pressure on these lights to refrain from crushing my inner child, basically. I hung them on 1/2/23 (yesterday, as of writing this), so only time will tell whether or not theyll outlast the dud sets that some of the negative reviewers received.... But my first and VERY confident impression is that THEYRE EVERYTHING I EVER WANTED! AM I YELLING? GOOD! LOOK HOW SHIMMERY THEY ARE! First off, I love that I got these for $9.99, because that was pretty much the extent of my budget for novelty lights. But weirdly enough, I also love that they were previously listed for about $17, because I was always taught you get what you pay for, and you never want to buy the cheapest thing, because the quality will be cheap also. You want to buy the medium-priced thing when its on SALE for as little as the cheapest thing. Thats the pro move. Mounting them was incredibly simple; the hardest part was standing on my mattress (which was my own dumb idea and thats not the lights fault). I used 6 skinny nails to hook the little hangers on. I was very impressed that the set came with its own nails, in addition to its set of adhesive mounting brackets, so the mounting method can be consumers choice, but I opted for my own nails, which were longer and seemed like the most secure way to go. If this saves anyone time: I measured about 8.5 between each of the little hangers, so I spaced the nails 8.5 apart, making sure each one was the same distance from the ceiling to ensure the line would be straight. I love that they plug in, rather than draining through every battery I own. If youre plugging them into a wall socket like I did, youll need a USB adapter, but I had some spares, so that was no problem. The only other thing that even SLIGHTLY resembles an inconvenience is that the 8 modes arent labeled on the remote, so if you havent memorized them from this page, it takes some trial-and-error to pick the mode you want. My favorite modes are 8 (solid) and 2 (steady twinkling). Everything else on the remote is clearly labeled and completely straightforward. The dimmer is perfect; I usually prefer the lowest brightness, for a subtle, delicate shimmer, though Ill sometimes use the medium setting in the daytime. (Pictured are half brightness and full brightness.) Its SO convenient to have a remote. I refused to even consider any sets of curtain lights that didnt come with one, since its not exactly convenient for me to reach down to the socket between my bed and wall every time. The strands stay pretty curly after you uncoil them, and I wanted mine to hang straight so they wouldnt get caught in my bedding, so I VERY LIGHTLY AND CAREFULLY pulled each one straight down and LOOSELY secured each end to the wall with a small piece of Scotch tape. I left enough slack that each strand can still be moved back and forth like a guitar string. Ill probably remove the pieces of tape later, once they hang straight on their own. Theyre incredibly simple to operate. Theyre gorgeous. Theyre singlehandedly combatting my post-holiday seasonal depression and reversing my hatred of January. My childhood dreams are real, my room is sparkly, and I almost have no problems. I think my GPA is retroactively going up. Theres a glowing waterfall of pure serotonin in my bedroom now. I. LOVE. Them. If youre thinking about trying this set, just do it. Sure, there seems to be a chance that youll get a dud, but if that happens, youre only out $10 (and might be able to snag a refund or replacement, at that), and the ratio of good reviews to bad ones says you probably wont get a dud. Its not a big risk, and the payoff is totally worth it. LOOK HOW PRETTY. MY ROOM IS INSTAGRAMMABLE NOW. AND I DONT EVEN HAVE AN INSTAGRAM.

I bought these a year ago for my daughter’s room. She loved them and they were so cute for displaying her Polaroids. Unfortunately, the lights died not even a year later. She still has them hanging up because of the pictures, but they don’t work anymore. Such a bummer.

It lasted about 10 months for me, then just stopped, not sure why, I also havent been using it that much. It happens to be the the only one of this size on amazon (as of 10 months ago) that will at least pretend to fit your doorway. The different modes are cool, less cool though is the unison flashing some of them have, if you could get a seizure from an arcade, I feel the same applies here. You can just avoid those modes though. The hooks were very useful personally. But the lights come tied up in a circle, this is very annoying to undo while prevent them from tangling, and you never really get the curves to come to all the way. Which depending on how you want it to look may not matter. There is the faintest high pitched hum if you put your head near the plug-in port, but not noticeable in day to day matters. otherwise the brightness is great, you can adjust it, havent tried the timer thing yet. It may take a few clicks from the remote to turn it on or off. I intend to buy another one simply to avoid the ordeal of hunting a new set down.

I love the lights, but, the control remote only lasted 5 months, so, now the lights are garbage!!!
