I tried to use the largest 2.5 hole saw to cut through 2 of wooden floor from my crawlspace towards my distribution panel to run some conduit. The hole in the saw which normally has two flats to drive it, rounded out so that it no longer works (see picture for comparison of good drive hole vs bad). As the largest hole saw in the pack this is the most torque demanding. However the saw was evidently insufficiently hardened for the task, hence the 1-star for durability.

I had 1 hole to drill. The center bit snapped in half and the actual part i was using (2 inch diameter) bent to the side. Made it very hard to drill the hole. Eventually i got it to work but I would never trust this kit again after it broke on me. Do not buy if you expect it to last.

Worth the money and easy to use.

I tried to use this for the first time yesterday. I cant use the smallest hole cutter. The bit/mandril that comes with the set is thick. When you put it into the smaller of the two shanks, the small hex screw wont tighten flush. Consequently, the smaller hole cutters wont fit. The non-flush screw prevents the hole cutter from fitting onto the shank. The smaller hole cutters dont fit onto the larger shank. I tried using a smaller bit from my tools, but that didnt work. This would be a great set if it had a thinner bit for the smaller cutters.

This is a pretty good set of hole saws. The price is right and the quality of the components are good.

I ordered this because I needed to cut a bunch of 2.25-inch holes into a 1/2 plywood. After cutting the first hole the cutout was stuck in the saw. I had to disassemble the whole thing and smash it on the ground to get the wood out of the saw. The next time I tried cutting from the top and then I tried to finish by cutting the other side of the board. Again it got stuck and I still cant get the wood out. After all this effort I ended up going to home depot and got myself a Milwaukee single-hole saw and it cost as much as this entire set, but I was able to cut out 10 more holes in the time it took me to get one drilled with this set. Cheaper is not always better. This saw cannot access the underside or remove the cut wood. It also doesnt seem to cut in a way to create space for the wood to come out. Really I dont understand what this would be good for.

I bought this to cut holes in my mirror so that I can put lights threw it in the back to make a vanity and I thought my mirror was wood and it was not wood it was plastic! and it worked on plastic I drilled 20 wholes about 2 inches wide and the Mirror did not break! great Product and I’m excited about it because it comes with different sizes so I’ll definitely be using it again and the price is great you go to Home Depot and just for one of the adapted sizes you have to give $40 not including the thing that needs to connect to the drill so this is a great buy. also are used it on wood to practice like a plain thick wood and it totally works that’s how I practice before I did it on the actual mirror.

Ive rated only 2 stars because there were NO instructions from the seller/manufacturer, Ryker. Seems to be an issue, because theres nothing on their website either (in fact, there are complaints about... no instructions. Now, I LOVE puzzles. But not when Im trying to figure out how to put together drill bits. Im new to using hole saw sets... I figured it out eventually (the drill bit must be switched over for the 1 hole (the only hole size that needs to switch, far as I can tell. Why not just put a bit on that size as well so as to not have to mess with the tiny hex wrench? Dumb plan on their part...cheap). Will update once I give them a try... I posted this because I just wasted my time trying to figure out WTH.

Bought these since the set I had was missing a size or two. Used it to cut into some very dense plywood using my drill. It got hot enough to smoke so I had to stop and let it cool a few seconds and use a wire brush to remove the wood that got stuck on the teeth, but after a couple of bites it made it through each time. No warping or damage to teeth after drilling about a dozen holes. I also liked this one because it came with one drill bit for all the hole saws, unlike another set I returned where some of the hole saws only fit the larger drill bit which was too big for my 3/8 drill.

Im confused on the negative comments. For the price, what do you want? Ive probably have two or three of these drill sets over the years. Why I keep losing them I have no idea, but this set is every bit as good or better. I had a lot of holes to cut and the first cut was as smooth as the last. As a suggestion, dont ever smoke them. Take your time cutting the holes, pulling out the blade and blowing out the sawdust a few times. Takes a few seconds more but a lot less wear and tear. I have no problem with the quality.
