Ive had these markers for about four months now and though i do jot use them continuously, i have made several large projects such as the big menu board pictured and i still get very good ink payoff. They are really easy to use and dont leak at all, which is something that tends to happen to other cheaper paint pens. The colors are bright and opaque. They are also great for layering but you do have to make sure that the ink has dried completely, which only takes a couple of minutes. They can write on almost any surface. The nib is soft but firm enough to hold its shape, though i would recommend against pressing down too hard as it could destroy the tip and render the marker useless. It only takes a few shakes or a couple pumps on the tip to get ink flowing. Overall this is a great marker that i highly recommend for artists who want to learn a new medium and are well worth the price.

These really work well. My wife had been using a brush to put in the small markings on the painted fish we are doing and it took a lot of time. Using these makes it MUCH easier and quicker. The Bold was my choice and I feel I picked correctly. I may go and order a black in a medium or fine tip for some of the color delineation areas. The paint flows evenly and well from the tip. It looks as if you could refill these by pulling out the tip and pouring more paint although I have not tried that yet. I will try to remember to update with the results when I do try to refill. It would depend on the consistency of the marker paint vs the consistency of the bottle paint. If it is the same then I think it should work. The material of the tip seems like it is good quality and should last. So far so good with the Posca Paint Markers.

I’m usually happy with UNI posca markers , this set I got was terrible used it 3 times to write a small chalkboard and it’s the ink has become sheer and you can barely see the print … it’s almost like it’s not authentic …

This is about as good as it gets for a high quality acrylic water based marker. Ive used and abused many high quality acrylic markers and nothing compares to the Uni-POSCA PC series for quality versus price. Posca ink is world renowned for its silky smooth, slightly chalky finish, not to mention the high opacity. These markers are excellent on paper, canvas, wood, plastic, glass, or metal, and just about any smooth dry surface can be painted. Really smooth surfaces such as plastic may need a slight scuffing with a high grit sandpaper to ensure proper paint adherence. Rough surfaces will work in some cases, but tend to eat up the nib and require more ink for complete coverage. One coat is usually suffice, but I like to apply two coats to smooth out any uneven areas, with at least ten minutes of drying time between coats. Several light coats of a matte acrylic clear coat will ensure permanency as well for long term archival of projects.

I tested these out last evening and they all worked fine. When each one is activated, you do have to press down on the tip, a half dozen times or so, before the paint begins to flow. I played around a bit, and was very happy with them. There wasnt any noticeable shift in color when dry. Do be sure any paint is dry before you go over it with another color though. Otherwise you will get the first color on the tip of the new color pen. This happened to me. I quickly released more color; dabbed at the tip with a wet paper towel, and it cleaned up fine. I would use another blending tool, if you like to blend when you paint. I am not a blender/painter, so I didnt test that out. Another thing I did test though was using it to ink up some home made stamps made of craft foam. They worked beautifully for that application. These will be great for art journaling. Because all of the information was in another language, I do not have any idea of the lightfast ratings. I would not use them in any fine art pieces. The pigment load seems good though, and as mentioned before; dry true to color.

This is the 15 pack. You can see the gouges from the plyers on the outside of the green marker where I tried to open it. Unless I am doing something wrong, these are NOT refillable. as far as how they work? They work as they are supposed to, no problem there, I just wanted refillable paint markers.
