The added length of the nut on the lead screw makes alignment much more important. If the two leadscrews are out of alignment this anti-backlash upgrade will cause the 3D printer to bind up. It can be pretty difficult and time consuming to perfectly align the two screws in order to use these nuts. I went back to stock and had no issues at all. In the end though, these arent really necessary for a Z axis. The weight of the hotend itself will eliminate backlash (the nut will not float up the screw and cause lost motion like these setups can in X and Y on CNC machines). Since gravity is holding the nut against the leadscrew backlash isnt really an issue for the Z axis so long as the wheels arent overtightened. They also caused an odd creaking noise when installed on my machine. The two tapped holes also did not quite align with the holes in the mounting bracket so I could only screw one side in without crossthreading the other.

All it does is make your lead screw bind up. Z stepper was skipping steps and couldnt get the nozzle up off the bed. If your gantry is sinking to the bed when the steppers are off you might benefit from this but for general printers, this is a useless upgrade.

Definitely grips on to the lead screw, use 2 on an ender 3 v2 with dual z-axis. Not sure if it does much but I would say it definitely does hold the lead screw better.

I installed these by following a video on how to install a backlash nut on an Ender. I compressed the nut, threaded the Z rod and it looked good. However, the gantry still drops at the lightest touch. Perhaps this would work better on a different printer.

To use this, the holes did not match existing part that you must use. The machining was not complete, no holes in the middle section. Waiting for replacement. Not sure if this will do anything or not to help.

These should be original equipment on all 3D printers. It takes some skill to install this but if you can lay the printer on its side... that was the trick for me. Took 20 minutes for one side... 5 minutes for the easy side. Perfect install. I used 8mm length bolts. The original supplied bolts were crazy long. Make sure you reuse your original spring lock washers.

So, I can’t say for sure that these things are working. But, they are tight and so are my lead screws so I think they are. They are probably one of those things that you don’t see working but know they are. Would buy again.
