20 Box Fan, 3 Settings, Max Cooling Technology, Carry Handle, White (G20BOX-WHT)

I live in a house with three other people and were all up at different hours so I needed a good fan to block out the noises of those I live with so I can sleep. This fan has been amazing for that purpose! I usually dont review products but I have to share how much I love this fan. Theres no handle on top but on the right corners on the backside of the fan theres good sized areas to grab onto. Ive found that it blocks out the noises best while on the High setting but Medium works if theres not as much noise. My only mild complaint is that the fan came in a little bit too much packaging. But overall this fan definitely gets a 5 Star review from me.

Some reviews commented on how this fan can be a bit loud, but for me that was the selling point. I sleep with fans as white noise, and usually have to replace my Lasko fan once a year. This fan actually feels more lightweight and has a better build quality than all the other box fans Ive used up to this point, and I actually love that the highest setting is somewhat loud. Also, having the dial for speed change in the front is much more convenient than in the back. Overall, very happy with this purchase.

I bought a lot of Lasko box fans from Walmart. They come bent and the blades hit often. They also require you to snap on the legs and if the fan is bent, the legs wobble and the fan begins to hit often, as I said. Here, this fan is unique and extremely super-duper awesome! First, they need to box the fan better because its too valuable to place it in such thin boxes. Thats because amazon can have some drivers who do what they do, or because others just drop them. So, use thicker boxes please. Secondly, the fan weighs heavy probably because its not cheap, has quality, and is durable--unlike a lasko. This fan feels like quality and is very solid. The box doesnt move or shift on high--like a cheap lasko would. Thirdly, the legs are attached underneath and they are sleak and smooth to twist. You just twist them clockwise (or counter, cant remember) and the box fan stands--bravo! Fourth, the fan is smooth and makes a nice light noise. I need a box fan to sleep because it drowns out steps and door slams. This fan does it.

I ordered white and received black but I dont really care either way so I plan to keep it. I like that this fan is narrower than box fans Ive previously owned, which makes sticking it in a window a little easier. One interesting point I discovered on accident when I unintentionally ordered both this Genesis fan, and also a similar fan from Pelonis, is that they are exactly the same fan. Probably made on the same assembly line in the same factory. See attached pictures and noise-test video showing the two side by side. Both fans seem fine. They make noise which I wouldnt prefer but they arent outrageously loud. Both fans push a lot of wind and both seem flimsy.

Its a good fan drowns out a lot of background noise; the only downside is that I was sent the wrong color :/

This is perfect if you like white noise...which is my reason for buying box fans. Anyway, even the lowest level is nice and loud so if you want to watch TV then its kinda loud and you will need to turn the fan off. Other than that, this is a dream for those that like to sleep with that wonderful soothing white noise.

Seems pretty loud but I guess that is good for those that will use it as a sleep aid.

This arrived quickly, and a good thing too, given the extended heat this summer. I am comparing it to an old, very sturdy, topnotch fan of slightly (very slightly) longer blade size that I had borrowed over the summer, and this Genesis box fan seems, so far anyhow, to move just as much air. On the other hand, the Genesiss two fast settings are noisier--only the low setting is really quiet. (A very minor point: there is no carrying handle, though one can still easily carry/move this light, well-made fan easily enough).

I love everything about this fan. For me, it’s the perfect sleeping fan. will purchase this brand again.
