> 24 hourWhat I love about this brand is that it only requires about 5 packets in a 5 gallon bucket of food.. when the package changes color (blue to purple) they have maxed out the moisture absorption... take them out and pop them in the oven (follow instructions) and it will reset them!! Ready to use again!!!! I use these for anything that wont be eaten within a week to keep it fresh!!

> 24 hourWhile reading about food preservation, I read about the silicone packs. So I decided to buy some and use them in my dry goods canisters to prevent moisture and to preserve the food better. I just got it, but I am sure I will be very happy with it. Great for long-term shelf life of your dry food products such as pasta, beans, flour, rice.

> 24 hourDuring the pandemic, I got into gardening and ended up growing some crazy amounts of spices in my garden. Due to a fallen tree, my garden needed to be completely harvested quickly. Originally, i had everything just stored in jars, but my first few batches of basil started to get moldy, and i ended up having to toss quite a bit. I decided to deal with the problem by drying them out, but using the oven, laying in the sun, heck, even the microwave still left enough moisture to be concerned. So, i decided that If its good for Jerky, its good for my Thyme and picked up these desiccant packets to throw into the jars. the packets are convenient, and so far, seem to work. Ill edit if anything changes, but so far, they seem to do exactly what youd expect.

> 24 hourI bought the 50 pack of 5 gram packets in 2015. I have been carrying them to various humid tropical locations to keep my underwater camera housing from fogging up. Thats the easy part, since its a small space. My concern was whether the packets would stay good over time. I put the package (an older version with clear plastic on one side and silvered plastic on the other) in a freezer Ziploc bag for an extra layer of protection. Even after opening the package nearly 50 times (each opening lets in a little humid air) the packets are working perfectly nearly 3 years later. Im ordering more today because the few paper packets I have left are starting to wear through and spill their beads. This is NOT a criticism of their durability - they have spent months in luggage, backpacks, and duffel bags on planes, trains, automobiles, and boats.
