5881ENH - Ademco Wireless Receiver

No problem with installation. Had a bit of trouble with initial programming, but a couple of minutes with tech support and I was up and running. It is working great so far. I do not pay for any monitoring, and get text messages for needed occurrences.

Appears to work well with Vista 20p cabinet.

Works Great with my Honeywell/Ademco Vista 20 and range is great to our guest house, garage, & apartment

I got this to replace an 8 channel Ademco Tx/Rx of the same type. This was a simple install, basically a plug and play with no issues whatsoever. Of course, the channels had to be adjusted, but once that was done, this works like a charm. I have no facts, but this SEEMS to have a bit longer range as I can use my key fob further from the house than I could with the older unit. Again, I did not measure it, it just seems to have greater spread of the signal.

I received this receiver in August and was staging it for an install that was waiting on construction to be completed. When I went to install it, it wouldn’t power up. Dead out of the box. I removed the circuit board from the case and observed the circuit board had corrosion and stickers that appeared to be worn and used. Now that I can’t return the product after Sep 27th, I basically purchased “BAD” faulty used equipment and wasted my money. I should have purchased the product from the appropriate Honeywell distrivution channels. In this case, trying to save a few extra bucks costs me a lot more than purchasing from Honeywell distribution channels.

Only way to get coverage of items that you cant hardwire. One of the best wireless security products on the market - Thanks Honeywell!

After playing with this item (new from the box).... for a week, I ended up buying the 5883H Xcvr unit. Spent about 1 hour on the 5883H and got it up and going. This device was new to me as this is my first alarm system. Once programmed and running the 5883h works great. I regret buying the 5881enh, but cannot return, so going to just sell it.

Previous wireless receiver was 8 zones so needed upgrade to this unit to accommodate more wireless contacts.

Everything went as expected!
