Do not buy this laptop. Yes it works pretty good. But the hinges that allow you to open it are fragile. After only about a year and a half of use one broke. I fixed that one only to have the other hinge break. Its out of warranty, and the hinges are not replaceable. All you can do is tear the thing apart and glue the screws back in...which only lasts for so long. Eventually the hinges will not be repairable, the screen will be ruined...so Ive read...and this is a very very common occurrence with this model. If you Google it, youll see a lot of complaints about the hinges. So if you plan on buying a new laptop every year, then this is the one for you...otherwise avoid it.

Very disappointed in any computer that only has a 30-day warranty. I would stay away from this unit as it glitches consistently. It turns itself on and off it goes into airplane mode the cursor stops working etc etc just garbage.

I am not one to leave reviews, but hoping I can save somebody money. I had this laptop for 1 month and a couple days before it would no longer boot up. I called Acer and without me even reading what was on my screen, the customer service rep already knew what was going on, which tells me that this is a common problem. Apparently it’s “uncommon” and the laptop I received just had a bad hard drive. I was in love with this laptop for the entire month it worked, but will absolutely not recommend this to anybody looking to purchase a laptop. I am so disappointed in this purchase.

This unit came with an unactivated version of windows. I cant change any settings unless I purchase an activated version of windows OS.

I love the laptop its self, compared from using a chromebook os to an acer aspire 5 is so much better along with the quality of it ♥️

I purchased this to do a little work from home. Great for those apps and general browsing. Probably not for gamers or video editors but great for what I do

The fan is always running and it is so loud. I missed the return window because Im rarely on it since purchasing, and I havent really used it because the loud fan noise is such a turn-off! Ive used my dinosaur computer laptop instead. I do not recommend, now Im stuck with it!

This laptop has everything we need for home and our small business. The easy of using your fingerprint to log is great. No more trying to remember passwords.

I thought it was a great deal & purchased it for my granddaughters first year at college for her birthday. Unfortunately, I had to return it since it was not exactly what she wanted. Apparently, a college freshman needs more bells & whistles than her grandfather needs for his surfing & Fantasy Sports Leagues.

Bought this computer to replace my chromebook because of technical issues during zoom meetings. Im pleased to say that this laptop has the features needed for doing zoom meetings, for example, it gives you the links for interpretation and so forth...whereas the chromebook didnt offer that. The Acer 1080 also is great for accomplishing coding projects, especially for my sons zoom class.
