Acer Chromebook 15, Intel Celeron N3350, 15.6 Full HD Touch, 4GB LPDDR4, 32GB Storage, Google Chrome, Pure Silver, CB515-1HT-C2AE, 15-15.99 Inches

I ordered the Acer Chromebook 15, Intel Celeron N3350, 15.6 Full HD Touch, 4GB LPDDR4, 32GB Storage, Google Chrome, Pure Silver, CB515-1HT-C2AE, 15-15.99 inches so that I might have a lightweight portable travel laptop to enjoy and use for travel and at home. I have had some time with the new Chromebook and I would like to share a few thoughts and experiences with this particular model.

I went to Chromebook a number of years ago because of its ease of use. After my first CB gave up the ghost, I bought this one. I do not do a lot of heavy computing or play games so it fits me to a T. The only thing I did not care for is that it does not have an SD card slot (it does have a micro-SD card slot). I have a lot of family photos and documents on SD cards so I had to buy a plug in SD card reader which works just fine with this Chromebook. I like the huge 15 touch screen feature and the lighted key board very much. I like to listen to my vast collection of big band and jazz music and the speakers are very good but I usually use headphones. Now listening to Harry James version of One OClock Jump. Man, that was when music was MUSIC! Very please with this Acer.

Don’t buy!

Received this chrome book only to have the operating system crash. Follows the google instructions to reinstall it, which did not help. Amazon offered to have me pay to send it back to Acer. Acer paid the shipping. Don’t know if the fix will work. I have owned the computer for two weeks and haven’t used it.

Battery isn’t great; forty-five minutes, tops. But the laptop is a solid product otherwise. Loads super-quick. Programs run fine. Not a “gaming” system and didn’t buy it for gaming either. This chrome book was purchased for college and it has delivered!

Booting up the first time said Chrome OS is missing or damaged.

We bought this in December but didnt start using it until we started Distance Learning for our kids in March. We only used it for about an hour a day and now it is completely dead. We charged it completely and it wont turn on. The return window was only a month so I will try to contact Amazon and see what our options are. I do not recommend this chromebook.

Love the big screen. Not crazy about the keyboard, loose.

Ill be honest, I dont know a lot about specs, megagertz or hertz or whatever, technical stuff. So here is a 57 yo woman who just got it out, plugged it in, and made it work. Usually I have my son or husband set things up but I wanted to see if I could do it, because believe me, if I can, you can.
