> 3 dayWhat you get for the cost is hard to beat with the Helios 300, but ultimately the heating of this laptop was just too extreme that I had to return it. The temperatures of the CPU were way too high at idle and awful under load. I was regularly seeing 60-70 degrees C without anything open, even after limiting the CPU turbo feature from the control panel. This resulted in a very loud computer, even when just web browsing. I’d like to give it the benefit of the doubt, and that the fans/thermal paste/etc on my unit were just installed poorly, but if that’s the case it reflects poorly on Acer’s quality control.

Greater than one week2 Acer laptops defective out of the box within a week of each other. First was a Nitro 5 from Best Buy, the 2nd was this Predator. This one the track pad wasn’t installed correctly and had the top right corner above the plane of the surrounding surface.

> 3 dayFirst thing I want to say is this is by far the worst keyboard Ive ever used. It doesnt respond to being pressed on the corners of the keys so you will miss type constantly or mess things up while gaming since the way youve learned to type your entire life will be different with this keyboard.
