> 3 dayAcer has absolutely come a long way. I reviewed one of their first Predator Helios 300 gaming laptops approximately 2 years ago. It was big, bulky, ran hot, but it performed better than 73% of all PCs tested, it was a phenomenal beast.

> 3 dayThe bottom cover for a ram upgrade gets a big huge boooo! Is not easy and you have to wrench on a brand new computer to get the cover off, and acer could not spring for a piece of plastic you use that would not affect the cosmetics of the case. Big huge boo!

> 3 dayThis laptop is designed for gaming but for a serious coder it works very well. The gaming is a good bonus but the purchase was based on the need for a computer that could support the classes and coding I need. It is fast, the fans are a bit noisy but Id rather have noise than a computer killed by heat. This is the best of all worlds, great for gaming and butt kicking for college level coding.

19-11-2024Great gaming laptop or for everyday use. Had an issue within the first few days; it was only running on one graphics card (I’m lousy with computer speak). It had an issue processing the graphics from the cpu to the Nvidea card. Luckily my son is a wizard with all things computer, and was able to locate an error in a driver and correct it. Now it runs like a rocket. I’m guessing I could have called the tech support number that came with it and they would have handled it as well. Battery life on a full charge gets me 2 hours of usage at best. I’m ok with that because it typically stays plugged in while gaming. I’m told that settings can be changed to go into a low power mode while running on battery to help. Since it is running two fans at performance settings and a battery hungry graphics card, it’s a trade off that’s fair. For a gamer, it has the hardware to pretty much do it all. It gives you way more features for the cost than pretty much anything else.

> 3 dayUpon opening I couldn’t do anything with it because it said no hard drive detected. It was replaced & I’ll give another review on the replacement. ***Received replacement & changed from 1 star to 5! The sound is amazing! Graphics great. I also want to add the manufacturer was going to have me wait a month for replacement whereas Amazon sent it out right away. That was very much appreciated as I needed it for school & that was a lot of money to be out of for a not functioning laptop.

> 3 dayBest Gaming Laptop for 1200 bucks. I have upgraded from old 2013 asus notebook and it has been a great spec bump. RTX 2060 with i7 10750H is best combination for performance with less money. It would have better if acer has provided AMD version!
