Greater than one weekI got this gaming laptop for gaming purposes due to graphic cards being hard to get for a pc. Only complaint that I have is that I didn’t get a bigger screen other than that this thing runs great especially for apex

Greater than one weekI ordered this laptop for gaming and school work the amount of effort acer put into this laptop is amazing, the temps are literally the coldest on the market Im using the auto fan preset and I get a solid 120fps on minecraft rtx with turbo I can achieve 160fps but the fan is louder then an airplane, the screen had no backblight bleed and I measured the panels response time with overdrive I managed to achieve 2.47ms on average with 300hz running on gpu mode aka g sync, the battery life on this unit is amazing with optimus running on 60hz at 60% brightness, I recently got it today so Im not done testing but its still 74% by just browsing on chrome watching things on youtube (fortnite montages) and (anime) also, I went on microsoft teams did some stuff and also reddit, I dont know why but the colors were higher then normal the brightness I measured was 367 nits which is good for a gaming laptop 101% srgb with 81% adobergb and 83% p3 with a contrast ratio of 1250:1. Overall if your going for any gaming laptop this is the thing to go one consequence is the wrist wrest space see the video for yourself, if you own any razer gaming mice you will know this is small, personally I would find this a benefit since I cant tuck my chair under my table so Im not sitting too far away from the laptop

Greater than one weekThis is my first Acer. For someone who viewed Acer as a budget brand, this Predator Triton 500 SE has significantly changed my mind. It’s not perfect, but this is a very nice laptop! It’s expensive, but it’s still inline or even costs less than other brands with similar configurations.

> 3 dayDont buy this Laptop! It has a problem with the gpu/motherboard. Green boxes appear all over the screen, I am unable to open games, and CAD modeling program! I installed the newest gpu driver, then it was OK for 2 restarts, and then the green boxes occured again!

> 3 dayThis slim and dense laptop packs a six core CPU that can turbo up to 5ghz, a 2070 super, and all the LEDs to light up a carnival into a laptop with a great screen. The heft and performance mean business, though the loud startup sound and fireworks display on the keyboard betrays a bit more whimsy. It can fill both niches nicely, as can it be a portable desktop replacement. I say portable, but at a very dense 5lbs (feels much heavier) and with a 4 hour battery life, its not a typical laptop. Between the low base CPU speed and the various max Q tricks used by the GPU, it can and does make sacrifices to allow for this portability. Most evident is the 230watt power pack, which is ridiculous for a laptop, but the GPU alone could draw more on the desktop, but upgradability is another issue.

> 3 dayOn paper, the Predator Triton 500 SE seems like the ideal powerhouse laptop, and it very well could be for advanced content creators. The most demanding gamers, however, will need to decide if the power-constrained graphics chip is a worthwhile trade-off for the laptop’s thin and light design.

> 3 dayIf all you want is a well performing 2070 Super Laptop sure, the Triton 500 is very appealing on paper. Sub $1500 for these specs!?.. Heck yeah! And then you realize that you cannot judge a book by its cover.. Literally. This otherwise great gaming laptop is designed with the motherboard flipped toward the keyboard. Meaning, you cannot simply take the bottom cover off and upgrade your memory or add a second SSD. Upon opening, you will be greeted by the back side of the motherboard and no easy way to update your newly purchased $1500 gaming laptop that only comes with a 512gb SSD. 512gb is simply no enough HD space in 2021. You basically have to COMPLETELY disassemble the internals of this to simply add HD space or RAM. ACER.. What the F? Terrible design IMO. There are plenty of thin gaming laptops out there that are designed PROPERLY. Bottom line, shop around. Dont waste your hard earned money on such a throw away design. Reworked ACER this could be a crowning achievement. But in its current form its just not practical when there are so many other options out there that dont make such a massive compromise at these sacrifices. 3 Stars is being generous.
