AfterShokz Aeropex - Open-Ear Bluetooth Bone Conduction Sport Headphones - Sweat Resistant Wireless Earphones for Workouts and Running - Built-in Mic

Greater than one weekHaving crashed and burned with 2 lesser quality, bone conduction headphones, I finally bit the bullet and bought these (Used/Refurbished? - via Amazon). I believe it was my own sweat and the occasional rain and drizzle that we get here in the Pacific Northwest that doomed the cheaper headphones. These headphones (Aftershokz - Aeropex) have worked flawlessly so far - even in wet conditions. Ive only been using them for 2 months (about 10 runs total), so Ill come back to this review with an update if anything changes. Also, what I learned was, because I sweat a lot when I work out and run in the rain quite a bit, I most likely need at least a level 7 for water resistance. The Aeropex has a rating of IP67 (the second digit (7) represents level of protection against water ingress). Other, cheaper headphones Ive used had a level 5 for protection from water and those never worked out. I believe water was getting in through the charging port (micro USB) of the cheaper pairs, causing them to fail. The Aeropexs magnetic charging connection appears to be completely sealed and much better designed for the elements.

> 3 dayThey work fine. I do like the fact that when exercising outside I can hear vehicles or talk to others. Some reviewers have noted that if you have a big head, they aren’t going to fit well. My head must be on the smaller side, since optimum transmission against the “ear bones” is hard to adjust the fit to achieve. I wish there was a way to reshape the head and ear loops to adjust it so that it sits/rests directly over the bone. Additionally, others reported that the microphone is not picking up clearly when I am on a Zoom call.

> 3 dayWhile they arent the best to wear on a train or a plane to drown the world out they are great for when you want to listen to music or podcasts but you still need be aware of the world around you like at work or while running.

> 3 dayEDIT: I have had these for almost two years now and they havent broken, so they are sturdier than the Titanium. I would still recommend them to anyone! I loved my Trekz Titanium headphones, and these are even better. They are lighter weight, so you dont feel them as much. I do have a big head and I worried that since these were smaller they might not fit, but they fit well. I also hope that they are more durable than the titanium (Ive had 4 pairs of them and each broke at the thin place above the ears, but I kept getting them because they do work great). But I hope these last more than a year. The best thing about Aftershockz is the ability to connect two devices to your headset. So I can watch on my laptop and when a call comes in on my phone, it pauses my computer and transfers the sound to my phone so I can answer it.

> 3 dayThe product page says that the headphones will come with two charging cables, a carrying case, and earplugs. Instead, I received a sport belt with the headphones. Contacted Aftershokz support directly and they couldnt help me because Amazon was the seller. (Also, they were sold out of the charging cable on their site.) Amazon support was ultimately helpful, telling me to order two replacement cables ($38.14 with tax) and then theyre giving me a promotional credit for that amount. However, a) this was a lot of hassle, and b) Im still not getting the carrying case and earplugs that were advertised on the product page. I cant comment yet on sound quality. As for fit, Im cautiously optimistic, though I think this is going to be widely variable. Other reviewers with self-described large heads have said the fit is too small and positions the conductors over the ear instead of the jawbone. I have a very large head too in terms of hat size, I think my ears are placed lower and further back on my head than a normal persons ears. So for me I think it will be fine. They are definitely more comfortable than ear buds. So well see. One potential problem: while you can tilt your head forward and side to side without affecting the placement of the conductors, if you tip your head back then the conductors are pulled onto your ear and wont reposition on your end. I bought these for cycling and Ill often tip my head back to crack my neck, so this may be a problem.

> 3 dayAt the time of ordering, it was advertised that would include a Sports Belt. Received the product but not the Sports Belt. Is this your issue or Amazons?????

> 3 dayI cant find a single thing to complain about these. There was an issue with them stopping working, but I contacted the company and was sent a replacement with almost no hassle and was very quickly returned the new ones that are working very well! Highly recommend.
