> 24 hourMy Dads older home still has some 2-prong (non-grounded) receptacles. I wanted to test them because grandfathered into old building codes or not, I dont think theyre safe. So when I saw the Aicevoos D2S Receptacle Tester I jumped on it. Of course, I failed to read the entire product title or I wouldve seen that its for 3-wire 120V outlets. DUH! So that was my bad... The good news is I can still test all the 3-wire outlets in his home and every outlet in my home too. I like the simplicity of it. Plug it in, let it do its thing, and then get a result on an LCD screen. Much easier than having to look through a reference chart to see what it means when certain LEDs are lit up in a certain order. Personally, I think everyone should go through their home or apartment and test all the outlets for safety and peace of mind. You probably werent there looking over the electricians shoulder during construction. But at least you can get your kids (if old enough) to go around and plug this device into every outlet you have. And if any of them display anything other than CORRECT, youll certainly find out about it in record time! (ha-ha)

> 24 hourI have a similar device that just has colored lights and costs less, but this is easier to read. It also will test for GFI working correctly. I talso shows you the current and frequency. If it trips when you plug it in for GFI, that is the purpose, to test it. If it does NOT trip when you are testing it then you are not protected.

> 24 hourI have plenty of experience with electrical systems and own many different types of testers like this. What sets this one apart is that is provides plain-language messages about problems. This is ideal for the average homeowner who may have no knowledge of wiring. It tells you exactly what the problem is, in words, making it easy to fix the problem. It works very well, and I would recommend it.

> 24 hourThis unit works so well and simply that even those of us who lack any understanding of electrical circuits can troubleshoot an outlet. Plug it in and watch it work. It is sophisticated enough to diagnose that my smart outlet expander is lacking a ground, despite it having a ground lug. I used it immediately to determine that my wife had turned off a light switch to a series of outdoor outlets, despite her protestations to the contrary. It was very nice to have an expert on my side.

> 24 hourI plugged it in, showed no ground, Im thinking WTF I know this is a good plug. I pull it out and the ground prong is still in the receptacle. Literally broke on its first use.

> 24 hourThis thing works great and is so easy to read. It’s just slightly difficult to store. I wish the plug folded into the main unit, rather than remaining rigid - it would just make it that much easier to store. Other than that one thing, this thing is so much easier than the old “decode the 3 lights to see what state your outlet is in” reader it replaced.

> 24 hourThe meter is about 2 vac off and the hz reading always shows a steady 60hz even on a generator that was running at 64hz.

> 24 hourI run a bunch of 3D printers and recently had blown several fuses - I needed to be sure that my power strip and socket was not the issue as the expensive cost of having under voltage or a loss of ground was not something that I wanted to risk - this one is incredibly easy to use - multiple error detection codes that can detect several different faults even button to ensure leak detection receptacles are working properly - hands down the easiest way to check your sockets at home for faults and correct voltage! 10/10 recommend this one for any DIY home owner!
