> 3 dayI have plenty of experience with electrical systems and own many different types of testers like this. What sets this one apart is that is provides plain-language messages about problems. This is ideal for the average homeowner who may have no knowledge of wiring. It tells you exactly what the problem is, in words, making it easy to fix the problem. It works very well, and I would recommend it.

12-06-2025It doesnt get any easier then this, its basically idiot proof, the proverbial plug and play. Ordered this because when I run to circuit braker the misses knows right away that the outlet is working instead of her having to plug in leads and test for voltage.

13-06-2025I wanted this Aicevoos DS2 3-Wire 120V Outlet Tester because I had an APC (American Power Conversion) home surge protector showing a red light for a building wiring fault. I did some searches and found some information that some of these units have been known to show false positives for wiring faults. I moved the surge protector to a different outlet that wasn’t causing the red light. When I received this Aicevoos DS2 3-Wire 120V Outlet Tester, I tested the ‘offending’ outlet, and it showed as CORRECT. I proceeded to test the rest of the outlets in my home. Most came up as CORRECT, but an unused one came up as LIVE NEUTRAL REVERSE for both sockets. And a heavily-used one came up as MISSING GROUND for both sockets. I immediately unplugged the heavily-used cords, and won’t use that outlet until my electrician addresses the issues. I didn’t try any other functions on this tester, just used it by plugging it into sockets. Testing took a second or two on each plug, and then the ‘plain english’ output in all-caps. I’m really glad I ordered this tester. An electrician found and resolved a serious issue with an outlet in my finished basement a few years after I moved in. It will be good to get these others taken care of. I’ve assisted an electrician relative on wiring an addition to his home, not doing any of the real electrical work, but observing. I’m not an expert, so this Aicevoos DS2 3-Wire 120V Outlet Tester was perfect for me. I’ll also have my electrician check out the outlet that threw an error on my surge protector, but checked out CORRECT with this tester. This outlet tester seemed to work well, and I have no reason not to recommend it.

> 3 dayThis is exactly what I needed. I am an electrician and I was looking for an easy plug tester that showed not only if the wiring was correct, but what the actual voltage is at the outlet. It is great and does exactly what it says. Definitely recommend this for the professional as well as anyone looking too check the outlets in their own home.

> 3 dayThis review is for Aicevoos D2S Receptacle Tester (ASIN: B09WV34N3F). I own other testers that only test wiring, but I like that this also shows the voltage and frequency. There isn’t too much to say here, other than this tester works very well. It’s also easy to read, and it has become my new favorite outlet tester.

> 3 dayMy Dads older home still has some 2-prong (non-grounded) receptacles. I wanted to test them because grandfathered into old building codes or not, I dont think theyre safe. So when I saw the Aicevoos D2S Receptacle Tester I jumped on it. Of course, I failed to read the entire product title or I wouldve seen that its for 3-wire 120V outlets. DUH! So that was my bad... The good news is I can still test all the 3-wire outlets in his home and every outlet in my home too. I like the simplicity of it. Plug it in, let it do its thing, and then get a result on an LCD screen. Much easier than having to look through a reference chart to see what it means when certain LEDs are lit up in a certain order. Personally, I think everyone should go through their home or apartment and test all the outlets for safety and peace of mind. You probably werent there looking over the electricians shoulder during construction. But at least you can get your kids (if old enough) to go around and plug this device into every outlet you have. And if any of them display anything other than CORRECT, youll certainly find out about it in record time! (ha-ha)

> 3 dayThis tester is quick and easy to use. It will alert you to wiring issues and/or inconsistencies. There are other devices that perform a similar function with the use of LED lights, but that this one has both LED lights and an LCD screen is what sets it apart from the others. Additionally having a GFCI trip button to ensure your GFCI outlets are wired properly is handy, most, but not all testers have that feature. What I like: 1. I found the easy to read LCD screen useful. 2. The GFCI trip button is a nice feature. Drawbacks: 1. It is larger than a typical tester that has no LCD screen, but for me thats not a deal breaker. Bottom line: Unless I need to test in a really tight spot, this is my new go-to tester!

> 3 dayI like that this unit will diagnose the fault in the circuit. I also like that it will cause a fault in the circuit to test the protection of the circuit. If I never encounter a problem that is diagnosed, this is a good thing! Reading the screen cannot be much easier too! I LOVE THIS UNIT! This unit covers much of what I would do manually. I have done a lot of wiring in my house as well as others and formerly in my business too. I have always elected to use my multi-meter so that I could ensure good connections (checking voltage after knowing the supply into the premises). I would check between all three connections as well as the chassis (box), especially if using conduit or metallic shielding. Using this unit makes it easier to get past the shields in the better duplex receptacles (wall plugs) and it gives me all the readings I would use. I do recommend this unit especially since it is CE certified as well!

> 3 dayI plugged it in, showed no ground, Im thinking WTF I know this is a good plug. I pull it out and the ground prong is still in the receptacle. Literally broke on its first use.

> 3 dayThis is a great tester to throw into your electrical tool box. It is small and easy to use, and doesnt even require any batteries. Simply plug this into a standard 120V outlet and it will, within about 3 seconds, tell you in plain english, if the wiring is correct, and the voltage and frequency of the AC. If there is a problem the tester will tell you in words what the issue is, without having to interpret a set of lights. Additionally, you can press the leakage test button to trip (test) a ground fault detector if there is one in the circuit. This will handle up to 250V so if your socket somehow has 240V instead of 120V on it, you wont blow up the tester. PROS: * Small and lightweight * Good build quality * Extremely easy to use CONS: * Consumer quality, not a professional quality product.
