Amazon Basics External Hard Drive Portable Carrying Case

This handy protective case does exactly what it purports to do - it safely stores a portable hard drive (in my case, a Seagate Portable Drive P/N 2N1AP5-500), along with a netted area to store the hard drive USB cable. It is a hard plastic case, with a thin fabric layer on top, closed with a zipper. If you want to protect your portable hard drive, this should do the trick nicely (although you should check the dimensions to ensure that it fits your drive - in my case, it fits the Seagate perfectly).

I bought this case to store my new Seagate Expansion 1TB Portable External hard drive (STBX1000101). Despite some reviews saying that this case is a tight fit for my particular Seagate drive, the one I got works perfectly. An elastic strap holds down the drive with about 1 cm of space all around. If anything the case could benefit from being a bit tighter. A mesh pocket on the other side is perfect for storing the USB cable.

If youre looking to buy a superior flask, skip the Contigo Auto Seal and buy the Contigo Snap Seal! I have both types but have stopped using the Auto Seals because the Snap Seals are not only easier to keep clean (The inside of the lid is almost impossible to clean thoroughly.) but the Snap Seal flasks keep things hot or cold MUCH longer. (Like keeping ice for 24 hours!) Add in the fact that the Auto Seal lids break easily if you drop then (Ive done it twice!) and the choice is a no-brainer!

So nice to have a case for my external drive. I travel quite a bit and it is good to know that it is protected while being carried on and off planes and to wherever I happen to be headed.

This is a great case to carry with you when you have a portable hard drive. This case is heavy duty and wont damage your hard drive in transfer.

My Seagate portable external hard drive and USB chord fit perfectly in this case. I like that one side of the case has an elastic strap and the other a mesh pocket.

Its a case! It holds small external HDs well. Its slightly firm which is reassuring and the zipper slides smooth. Inside has a net pocket which is nice for small cords or batteries or sd cards. Its a basic case done right.
