Amazon Basics Outdoor Smart Plug with 2 Individually Controlled Outlets, 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, Works with Alexa Only

Love this product, easy to use!

I used to use a standard Amazon smart plug to control my Christmas lights with Amazon routines. But periodically it would cut out and Id have to reset it, likely because it was in a cold garage. This outside rated one hasnt had an issue all season even with it getting below 0 (Fahrenheit), so happy with my purchase

Got this for our backyard patio lights. At night, we let the dog out and my wife & daughter hate that its dark out there. So, I strung up some lights. The Smart Plug was so they could say, Alexa, Patio Lights on, and walk outside to a lit backyard. Set up was super easy, especially because we have many devices connected to our Alexa. Would definitely buy again and recommend this item

This does the trick for turning on and off the outdoor XMas lights, but there is one oddity--it shows up as Amazon Basics Plug in the Alexa app, and you really have to dig around to find it in the list of supported plugs. Setup took way longer than it ever did for other Amazon plugs because I couldnt find it in the app and thought it wasnt working. I took off a star for that frustration. That aside, it does what it says it does.

This product was easy to set up and made life easier with turning on lights outside. However after we started using it our breaker tripped almost daily. We stopped using this product and haven’t had any issues since

We had one of the staked timer outlet boxes that kept having issues - set to turn on at dusk for several hours, but if it was cloudy/dark enough during the day it would activate sometimes. I purchased this outdoor smart plug after having purchased an indoor smart plug strip and having great luck with scheduling Alexa routines with that. I figured this would similarly do the same for our outdoor holiday lights. So far, this has worked flawlessly. It turns on and off right on schedule every day. The construction is solid and no worries about the weather.

Easy to setup and control with the Alexa app! Can setup timers to control on/off schedules. Terrific for holiday lights and decorations. The outlet covers aren’t very secure so I wouldn’t want to used it in a wet environment.

I ordered one of these plugs for my outdoor lights. when it came in I took it out of the box and plugged it in to make sure it worked. I wasnt meaning to set it up at this time but once I had it plugged in I opened my Alexa App and hit add new device and BOOM it found it immediately. No apps to download and no skills to initiate. I have many WIFI devices using a variety of apps running under Alexa and this is hands down the simplest setup Ive ever had. Took maybe 2 minutes.

Thus far, this item works great. Easy to set up with Alexa and the routine assigned to it has worked flawlessly.
