Ok, so i decided to upgrade from my well serving, trusty i5-4690K (bought in 2014), which i will be leaving to my kids. I primarily game with my PC, hence why i didnt get the more expensive models. And at this moment im playing mostly Battlefield V, which is known to be hard on CPUs. I was expecting a smoother overall experience, without the FPS dips i was getting on my [email protected]... However i was Amazed! when i played the game with the Ryzen for the first time; i did not only get a smoother experience, but my average FPS went from 50-70 (with dips to 30-40), to 90-120, with 65 being the lowest ive seen so far (on Operation Underground)... This has been a hell of an upgrade, only comparable with when i bought my Sandy Bridge i5-2500k on 2011, coming from a 2007 Toshiba x205-sli Laptop...

Check that your motherboard supports it before purchasing either by default or by way of a bios update.

This CPU is excellent for the price, it even outperforms the Ryzen 7 2700x. I am upgrading from an FX 8350, this CPU outperforms it by 86%. If you pair this CPU with a GTX 1070, or 2080 you can throw anything at your computer and it will be able to handle it. Borderlands 3, Doom, Mortal Kombat 11, Fallout 4, Call of Duty, VR games, it does it all.

even with the stock cooler it can still light overclock and perform well. While the pins are still pretty strong, be careful, if you are new to building a pc, these processors are heavier than they appear. Otherwise the installation went without any issue
