My son built a computer. He set goals to earn each piece. When the computer was built it would not work. We had to hire a computer tech guy to figure out why. It was this CPU!! Trying to get a refund... I get no response. Don’t order from this vendor. They don’t stand by their product!

No Idea why warmth and thickness is a rating but whatever, bought this because I couldn’t find a 3600, thus I bought this. Great but will thermally soak most coolers on the market, buy a decent cooler or aio and it will work great.

Review is for experience not product. Based on reviews I would have expected a 10/10 product, but to save $20 I opted for the like new amazon certified option. The amazon box over top the AMD product was fine, but in the inside the AMD ryzen box was torn open and the cpu cooler was there looked unused, but the CPU was not there. Customer service was seemed to sound reassuring to the issue, but remains unresolved until they receive the product back on their end. This wasn’t so much an upgrade as it was the remaining ingredient to a new build. Which I had everything assembled ready to go. It’s kind of like getting in a car accident, it not being your fault, the insurance is fixing everything, but I’m without my car. In this case I don’t get a immediate Rental or one at all. I like the very good and like new options since it helps to save some, but this experience wasn’t good.

I was originally shopping for a 3600 or 3600X, but the supply dried up by the time I was buying my parts. However, I think I ended up lucking out because I got the 3600 XT for less than the $249 MSRP. The reviews Ive seen have been a bit mixed about the cpu, but I think its a great sweet spot giving you enough cores for good productivity work and great single core boost to support gaming and other single threaded / spikey tasks. Theres also a lot of overclocking potential with this cpu. I have mine stable at 4.4 GHz, but I think I can probably get it up to 4.5 GHZ with a bit more tinkering. My motherboard (MSI Gaming Plus) is not ideal for OC either. The cpu itself is a great overlocker and lots of folks are comfortably running this at 4.6 GHz with relatively low voltage. If you can get this on a good sale and arent looking for the latest 5000 series cpus, then I would recommend grabbing this one. Its a fantastic cpu that I would use again in future builds.

The performance is incredible. I went from running high-end modded Minecraft at 25 FPS to 70 FPS. This cpu does put out a little heat but it’s almost unnoticeable unless you’re sitting up next to it. Installing it was a little unorthodox but I believe it was because my motherboard had brackets that I had to remove to get this to fit.
