AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 12-core, 24-thread unlocked desktop processor with Wraith Prism LED Cooler

Purchased on a steal for about $380 + tax when Amazon was running a deal for $50 off. This CPU is just amazing. Theres really no other way to put it. Make sure you pair it with a nice X570 (or atleast X470) motherboard. Definitely need after market cooling for it, I suggest a Noctua, but watercooling AIO would also work well. This thing runs a cinebench R20 of 7100 stock out of the box! Thats just amazing! Working with overclocking RAM and improving performance, Ive pulled my score up to ~7250. So depending on your purposes for the CPU and if youre going to be overclocking things, you can definitely pull more performance out of it, but its really not necessary. Just make sure you set up this beast of a CPU with a nice motherboard, RAM, PSU, and GPU.

Best bang for buck -future proof CPU out there as of Mar2020

Upgraded from a i7 7700k and this CPU is a monster. I usually go for Intel but I decided to give AMD a try for my new build and boy I do not regret my purchase. 12 cores 24 threads processor is enough power for streaming, gaming, or editing. I used this processor in a custom loop and paired it with a x570 motherboard, gtx 1080ti, 32gb ddr4 3600 mhz ram and benchmarks were phenomenal. I am able to get high frame rates playing games on ultra wide at 1440p on triple A titles such as call of duty, destiny 2, and borderlands. Editing and rendering was also very fast with this CPU. This CPU however gets a little hot if your using the stock cooler due to its extra cores but with a aio or a custom loop this CPU stays cool. Overall, this CPU is the best bang for your buck and it can handle any task you throw at it. Overall, I am happy with my purchase and glad I did an Intel to AMD switch..

The processor is great and packaged well for shipping. The heatsink that it comes with is actually really nice, I have a watercooler from my old PC but this stock one is just too cool. Great performance so far. Great shipping, even during this coronavirus crap. Thanks again Amazon.

Jeez.. so compare to my old fx-6100.. this thing blown my mind.. i can game to everything, i can do anything , its like being free from everything! this thing is a beast ! hopefully it will last long ! i get 35-40 degree on idle , 50-60 on load, i paired it with a msi mag cooler 240 and it does the job! i will edit if something happen but so far so good! Ryzen is on beast mode ! if your planning to go with a 3700 or 3900x.. atleast for me i went for 3900.. its unstoppable.

Coupled with the RTX3070 this processor is an absolute beast! My daily workloads are absolutely nothing for this processor. All tasks run seamlessly, and multithreaded workloads are nothing but a piece of cake for this processor. Not exaggerating at this point but moving over from a 2017 MacBook pro has opened my eyes to the additional performance which wasnt really available for me over the past 3 years. The Ryzen Lineup is definitely growing up, and Im super excited to work with this build moving forward.
