I use this product to run a Windows PC where I use Docker for research & development purposes. The 3900x can crank through CPU-heavy computations while I use Windows in a fairly normal capacity (web browsing, office and productivity apps, occasional modeling and rendering tasks). I set aside 8-12 cores for computation in Docker and Windows still runs extremely smoothly, with snappy performance. Highly recommend this processor, it has been a great purchase.

I came from using the ryzen 7 2700X and obviously there is noticeably a big gap between performance, i paired this with 32gb of trident z neo 3600mhx, RTX 2060 Super and have the cpu locked at 4.30 ghz. I could do some more overclocking with my b550 motherboard but its decent enough, i can render music and videos at fast times without even putting any sort of stress on it. This cpu makes multitasking and gaming a breeze, i never felt this sort of speed with any computer in my life and its amazing. Great Cpu, make sure you dont cheap out on your motherboard, cooler or power supply. This baby runs hot so make sure you do some research on how to offset the voltage because this thing sucks a lot of power which heats it up to 70 c on idle, unless you have a beast of a cooler. so after playing around with the offset i managed to keep this bad boy at around 70 c under heavy load and around 29 to 33 c on idle. just a quick tip that i had to figure out, overall its a great cpu, worth the extra coin.

I bought one of these right when they came out. 2 years of pretty heavy business use and this thing is still a beast. Running heavy data algorithms, R, and python in parallel. . . unreal. Still the fastest around

This is my first AMD processor ever, and its a good one. I had to switch for this build because of how much the gap has closed for gaming, and how good Ryzen has been for multi-core processing. AMDs really been putting the pressure on Intel, and this shows it. This was also the easiest processor Ive overclocked using AMDs Ryzen Master software. You can do it all from within windows and after you apply your settings, you can just exit and it will retain your overclock freeing up even more resources (I think if you were to leave Ryzen Master open, it takes up like 10% processing power or something). If youre considering this processor, just make sure to get a good cooler. Im using an NZXT Kraken x72 and, while gaming, my temps always stay right around 50C - 60C depending on how much the game utilizes the CPU. When benchmarking the highest theyve gotten is 76C. So thats a solid choice for an AIO. I havent used air cooling in years, but most people I see say that Noctua is the way to go. Overall, this is an extremely good processor and I highly recommend going with it if youre on the fence for your next build.
