> 24 hourI took a real chance on this thing. It was made by a company Ive never heard of, it was the cheapest monitor in its class by far, and I was getting it open box condition. But I gotta say, Im glad I took the plunge! Usually when you get something that costs so much less than its competitors, theres a reason for it. It may still be a good product, but compromises had to be made somewhere. But in this case, I cant find them. Its very well built, works flawlessly and doesnt have any weird compatibility issues like my old Acer monitor. Looking at other reviews of this monitor, the general consensus seems to be that the only downsides are some minor color inaccuracies and that it doesnt get very bright. Well, I cant speak for color inaccuracies because I couldnt care less, but this thing was almost painfully bright when I first turned it on. Now maybe thats just because Im coming from a monitor that was..adequate, to be polite about it, but I really cant imagine someone needing something brighter than this. The only complaint I have is that the buttons along the bottom need to be marked more clearly. Theyre just slightly raised icons just barely darker than the rest of bezel; impossible to see without extra light. But thats par for the course when it comes to monitors. Ive seen ones that cost 3x more than this one that still have the same problem. Overall, a fantastic monitor even without factoring in the price. But when you can snag it for $200? That would be a good deal even for a 1080p monitor in the 144hz class, let alone 1440p.

> 24 hourI LIKE THIS MONITOR THE PICTURE IS GOOD BUT THERE WAS LITTLE THINGS I HAD ISSUES WITH LIKE THE SCREWS FOR VESA MOUNTING ARE TOO SHORT TO USE REALISTICALLY WITH A MONITOR ARM AND THE POWER CORD IS REALLY SHORT

> 24 hourI purchased this product at $259.99 and I would buy it again at that price. FreeSync flickering This has never happened to me once! Ive been using the monitor for a few weeks and its a non issue. Im using an AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT and have not tried NVIDIA. But if you have an newer AMD graphics card like I do, I recommend this monitor! Ghosting I barely notice the ghosting. When Im looking for it, I can see it on text, but its not noticible in game (except a little with moving text) and I dont think it should be an issue for most people. Darker blacks Ive never used VA before. My two most recent screens are a 1080p 144hz IPS on my Acer laptop and a 1080p 75hz IPS on my Asus monitor. To be honest, I can barely tell the difference. VA has a little bit darker blacks. Backlight bleed This montior does have backlight bleed just like an IPS. My Asus monitor has almost none but its also smaller. Expect some backlight bleed with this monitor. If there was a monitor that guaranteed ZERO backlight bleed but cost more, Id buy it, but backlight bleed exists at higher price points too. Its a roll of the dice. Luckily, you can only see it during dark scenes and sometimes not even then! Dead pixels MY monitor has NONE! I hate dead pixels and the reason I went with AOC is because their warranty is second to none on paper. I hope I dont have to use it but its amazing to have. 1500R Curve I have never used a curved montior before and was suspicious. However, I like the curve because I barely notice it while using it and it does make for an impressive look! The stand Its the best. I have always had to look down at monitors but this is not as issue with this one!

> 24 hourThis monitor has an excellent picture and is one of the most vibrant displays Ive ever purchased. However, its response time is slow and screen blur is almost unbearable. The monitor uses a VA panel that can bump out 4ms at minimum and I was looking for 1ms. So basically, this display would be really nice for editing photos or watching movies but i wouldnt recommend it for gaming. Especially not for competitive fps, as the response time is way worse than other products out there.

> 24 hourSo, first thing, I got lucky that I was home sick when this got delivered, because they do NOT do discreet packaging. Not even a little. Its the box the monitor came in with some Amazon tape and a shipping label on it. I snapped it up right when it arrived, but it could EASILY have been stolen, so theres that. On to the actual monitor: Super easy to set up. Im relatively experienced, but even if I werent, it wouldnt have mattered, because the most difficult part was getting through all the packaging to actually get to the pieces. Item arrived with no issues aside from very blatant packaging, and Ive noticed no issues with dead pixels or anything of the like since setting it up. I love the monitor size. It feels like I have a dual monitor setup without having a dual monitor setup. I dont explicitly notice the curve except that overall its very nice to look at. Now onto my one little gripe. Overall, the picture quality isnt very... clear? Images arent very smooth, which isnt a dealbreaker for me, but it is a little sad that I paid so much for a monitor that is actually worse, image-wise, than the monitor I was using before, which was a dell monitor I received for $5 and was about ten years old. Again, this isnt a dealbreaker for me personally, as Im the gaming type that DOESNT stress over every little point of optimization in a gaming setup and am mostly just happy with a setup that plays the games I want to play with a reasonable level of smoothness, but it is slightly disappointing and is the only thing lowering my score of this thing.

> 24 hourAs the title itself states, this is a well crafted monitor from AOC. Which to be honest I am quite surprised, since most AOC monitors are budget based, meaning cheaper in quality, but better in price. This monitor, on the other hand, excels on almost all levels for a VA display. It probably helps that the panel they are using is from Samsung themselves. Regardless it functions as well as it should in terms of sharpness control, contrast ratio, color reproduction, gamma levels, response times, input latency and so much more. Of course always make sure to test each monitor you obtain using the website lagom.nl/lcd-test, for itll help you in adjusting the picture quality just right. Also consider using blur busters ghosting ufo testing tool kit, for this will help you in adjusting the overdrive settings within your monitor. In the case of this particular one, medium overdrive should work just fine for any refresh rate/freesync variable. Fortunately for this particular monitor, most of the default settings work just fine and dont require extensive amounts of tweaking in order to get it to optimal levels. Overall, I strongly recommend this monitor, especially for anyone who has been using IPS panels for almost all there life. For the contrast ratio of a VA is especially big in comparison to a regular IPS panel With most IPS panels youll be getting blacks that are closer to grayish-black than actual black like in depth, contrarily, with VA panels, youll be getting inky blacks. Let it also be noted that freesync works wonderfully with this monitor and with an nvidia graphics card as well. In addition there are no issues with sharpness clarity as some reviewers have mentioned before and the viewing angles are top notch; They are not as great as IPS panels, but they most certainly excel against TN panels without a doubt.

> 24 hourHere is what I like about it the HDR color is bright and vibrant but not too overpowering though you will need to go into your display settings and tweak it to find the right settings for your setup. the curve is awesome. I had a 24 1500r and going up to a 27 1000r is just great. I only needed to move it about an inch back from where my old monitor was I have great FOV/peripheral in FPS games. I am using a RTX 3070TI and crank things up to max at 1440p and get no smearing/ghosting. Freesync is on and I have Gysnc compatibility turned on. With Vsync off I am getting 0 tearing that my eyes can perceive. I am playing most Tarkov right now and where that is still a Beta it has lots of wonky visual stuff going on so it isnt a great benchmark. But I have played a little doom eternal and Borderlands 3 and those both look amazin and run smooth 100-120fps with everything maxed at 1440p I could prob tweak a few things turn down draw distance etc and get it running at 165hz. I was skeptical if this was real, or some kind of racket... but this is a legit AOC G3 series monitor with a STRONK curve and really nice picture for well under $300. a big complaint about g2 series I have read and my own complaint from the g1 series I upgraded from is they arent bright enough. 300 nits is average but it seems much bright than that maybe it is the HDR I am not used to and bumping windows brightness up it can run brighter? But my last 2 monitors were 300 cd/m2 and this is certainly more bright and vibrant. It has only been a week we will see where we are at in a few months.

> 24 hourUPDATE: 3/25/2023 Ive had this monitor for three years now. it does show some age in the form of some random color bars across the bottom of the screen, like in the windows taskbar. they only appear when it first turns on (cold) but they have never lasted longer than it takes me to log into windows (warms up). By my guesstimation, its just the monitor warming up. everything else is still working flawlessly. I dont have much of a baseline to compare longevity but Im still very happy with this purchase. (: ORIGINAL REVIEW: I bought this monitor with my very own hard earned cash and am receiving nothing for this review except the satisfaction of paying it forward to fellow entry gamers, or just anybody who cares about how black vs white or really any color for that matter look on their pc. most of the reviews here are most likely going to be first impressions and may not be updated if the monitor were to fail, mine is not that. Ive had this monitor for one year and it still works as new. Ive always thought any device would last longer when used at lower power usage and my eyes get tired quickly if I run the brightness to high, as writing this I have the brightness at 20% and contrast at 50%. I was very concerned, a year ago, when I purchased this about dead pixels so I am sure that you are as well, the way I countered this concern was to get a 4 year protection plan with my monitor this added $30 to the $150 monitor totaling $180. I cant see it unless I look for it but there is one spot covering about 6 pixels (two tall three wide) where I accidentally had a butterfly knife fly at my monitor and left a small nick in it, to the quality though all of those pixels behind the nick still work perfectly. the bottom right corner of the screen must be where the power supply is because the brighter its set the hotter that spot gets, at 20% brightness the whole screen is cool to the touch and that spot is warm to the touch, even at 100% I dont think it could burn you. the things I think are best about this monitor would be the 144Hz, you can easily notice this by dragging and window in circles, and I really dont know how to explain this but the colors just look so GOOD, anybody who has used a cheapo monitor knows what that white and blue film and washed out blacks looks like. I guess a good way to say it would be that the blacks are very deep and the rainbow colors are very vibrant. with all of the options out there that Im sure your confused about (because I sure was) this one worked great for me and will probably work great for you as well.
