> 24 hourUsed this umbrella once. A couple of medium-speed wind gusts ripped apart this umbrella instantly. Terrible construction and by far the weakest umbrella I have ever owned. Unfortunately I waited too long to use it so was not able to return it within the return window.

> 24 hourWhat isnt clearly apparent from the product photos is that the white umbrella is white material on the outside. Black material on the inside. Good feature for when you use the umbrella as sun protection instead of rain. I love tiny compact umbrellas you can fit into your back jeans pocket or glove compartment. For those days where it looks like its going to rain, but your gut says it wont. This tiny umbrella wont keep your entire body dry. But it will be enough to keep your hair dry.

> 24 hourThis umbrella/parasol is like your very own personal blackout awning because it is made in the same way as a blackout curtain: A reflective layer to deflect as much sun as possible and a dark, absorbent layer to keep the rest of the rays from reaching you. It folds up so tiny that you can fit it in an evening bag or even a generously-sized pocket. I really appreciate the locking/unlocking mechanism. It has a smooth metal button that protects your fingers from getting pinched when opening and closing the umbrella. When a hurricane/tropical depression I took it outside in the wind to test it and it did not break or flip inside out. Not bad!

> 24 hourMy initial impression was that this umbrella is very compact. Of course it loses a bit of its compactness once opened the first time (Ive never succeeded in getting an umbrella, once opened, to look again like they did when shipped from the factory) but it remains pretty compact. It could fit into a pants pocket, or easily into a jacket pocket. It is lightweight, for sure. I havent had the chance to use it in a storm yet, but it does feel pretty sturdy considering its light construction. I got the white version. It is almost a silvery white on the outside, and black on the underside. It opens and closes fairly smoothly. While it is large enough for one person youd have to be pretty chummy with someone to share this umbrella with them. One of my guiding philosophies has always been, better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. With umbrellas the usual decision centers around whether the threat of bad weather justifies the inconvenience of carrying around a clunky item all day long, especially if it may not actually rain. With this umbrella that decision becomes a bit easier. Youre far more likely to take this one than a regular, full size umbrella. This umbrella can also be used to shade you from the sun, although I dont usually carry an umbrella for that purpose myself.

> 24 hourI live in the desert. Usually, as most deserts are, it’s hot and sunny. When it rains, it really rains suddenly and ferociously. It’s so infrequent that I often don’t have an umbrella handy. This umbrella solves that problem. It is tiny. It fits easily into a purse; it’s unnoticeable in a backpack. You could carry it in your hand and not notice it. It doesn’t take up a lot of room anywhere. Yet it opens into a full sized (single person) umbrella. It is layered, so the rain does not soak through, even when it’s intense. It dries quickly. The other part of desert weather is the sun. Although humans have created lots of artificial shade, there are still lots of open areas where the sun, especially in the summer, can be absolutely brutal. I’m not a big fan of the brightness either, so anything that can keep the sun off you even a little is a blessing. You’ll see all the cars clustered around a tiny sapling of a tree for that one branch of shade. This umbrella is opaque due to the black layer and has SPF protection (not all umbrellas provided a lot), so you can take your shade with you. Again, the extremely small size is convenient, since you can tuck it in your bag when you’re done with it and find it there on that day you get a terrible parking space a half mile away from your office. The pink is a beautiful shade as well. Maybe it helps reflect some of the heat back. It’s at least psychologically better than a black umbrella is. It will match my pink luggage when I travel. Since I love to travel to wet places like Miami or the east coast, I’m always needing an umbrella when I travel, but I forget that it rains elsewhere and never have an umbrella with me. This one won’t take up any room at all. Very useful umbrella.

> 24 hourJust what I needed for travel. I have a few umbrellas around the house but this is my first compact travel umbrella. I am glad that I found this one. It is so slim and compact. I can easily pop this in my carry-on or even purse! It doesnt take too much room in bag. It opens up to a spacious covering. I may get a few of these for gifts. Great find!
