Arches Watercolor Block, Cold Press 9X12

The Arches Aquarelle is excellent paper. The block format prevents imperfections in the paper surface from having been touched, either in the factory or at the store. Greasy fingers make the watercolor look splotchy. The chemical treatment for absorption slowing is IN the paper rather than ON the paper and it is cotton rag rather than wood pulp. If you want to have a satisfying session of painting by watercolor, THIS is the product to get. It IS expensive. But if you buy the cheap stuff, you may eventually loose the enthusiasm for painting at all.

Nothing beats a good quality watercolor paper. Arches are the best, my painting has improved just by using this wonderful paper. The paper holds the water nicely making wet into wet do just what I had intended.

Great for multiple techniques, so very versatile. I like that you can paint directly on the pad and remove your sheet with complete. Only problem I had was figuring out how to open. LOL But butter knife separates the sheets easily when starting at top center.

Very durable. Holes up well. Probably a bit pricey for beginners.

Best watercolor paper. too bad it is getting so expensive!

I love block paper in general and arches is great. Have bought this product in multiple dimensions and its simply wonderful and can handle a lot of reworking.
