Wow the most advanced Serial EVER !!, really is the new way for using serial data in the arduino, I worked with Decimilia and clones, the serial direct. This affected me because of old code I wrote and use from the web. So now I stumble with a RX LED Fixed and non-responsive Leonardo. But just check the literature in arduino.cc Leonardo and worked just fine.

Its the cheaper and better UNO. More PWM pins. The ability to do HID. Same compatibility as the UNO. Great board!

$35 Leonardo board. Its a great board, no complaints, but if I had to do it over again, Id but the $25 UNO board.

This is an excellent Arduino Leonardo with Headers. I bought two of them for my robot projects. Im glad I found them because they are hard to get. I had some old robot projects that required the Leonardo. So, Im very happy to get them at this low price. I inspected both of them very carefully. They were in perfect condition.

Great board that is the core of my multi-board project. Was able to reduce power consumption with careful code to less than 8 milliamps, and with my solar powered battery it should be able to run forever without replacing batteries. The Leonardo was the best at power savings compared to several other Arduinos that I tried including the Uno, Nano, and Mega.

Never connected through the USB. It did teach me to make sure an item is functioning properly before the return window expires. I ended up purchasing the IEIK Leonardo through Amazon and it works great. Also its less expensive.

Feature packed board for the money. No reason not to buy genuine Arduino!

This thing is a lot of fun to play with and its pretty powerful, especially for the costs. Its really well made, I have a few of them and they are built like tanks and you can tell they put a lot of attention to detail into it. A fun thing to consider is that you can use the USB out to emulate a keyboard, allowing you a lot of options when youre looking for ways to make this interact with existing software.

Many are reviewing these stating they are counterfeit. Mine was sold by Canakit, and its definitely a genuine product. Everything works as it should and Canakit also threw in some extra instructions in case youre new to electronics. Will definitely buy from them again once I have another project in mind.

ABOUT ARDUINO

Arduino is the world’s leading open-source hardware and software ecosystem. The Company offers a range of software tools, hardware platforms and documentation enabling almost anybody to be creative with technology.

Originally started as a research project by Massimo Banzi, David Cuartielles, Tom Igoe, Gianluca Martino, and David Mellis at the Interaction Design Institute of Ivrea in the early 2000s, it builds upon the Processing project, a language for learning how to code within the context of the visual arts developed by Casey Reas and Ben Fry as well as a thesis project by Hernando Barragan about the Wiring board.

WHY ARDUINO?

Why1Why1

Why2Why2

Why3Why3

Why4Why4

Inexpensive

Arduino boards are relatively inexpensive compared to other microcontroller platforms. The least expensive version of the Arduino module can be assembled by hand, and even the pre-assembled Arduino modules cost not so high.

Simple, clear programming environment

The Arduino Software (IDE) is easy-to-use for beginners, yet flexible enough for advanced users to take advantage of as well. For teachers, it"s conveniently based on the Processing programming environment, so students learning to program in that environment will be familiar with how the Arduino IDE works.

Open source and extensible software

The Arduino software is published as open source tools, available for extension by experienced programmers. The language can be expanded through C++ libraries, and people wanting to understand the technical details can make the leap from Arduino to the AVR C programming language on which it"s based. Similarly, you can add AVR-C code directly into your Arduino programs if you want to.

Open source and extensible hardware

The plans of the Arduino boards are published under a Creative Commons license, so experienced circuit designers can make their own version of the module, extending it and improving it. Even relatively inexperienced users can build the breadboard version of the module in order to understand how it works and save money.

Message from Massimo Banzi - co-founder

“The Arduino philosophy is based on making designs rather than talking about them. It is a constant search for faster and more powerful ways to build better prototypes. We have explored many prototyping techniques and developed ways of thinking with our hands.”
