These did just what I needed. I cut one in half, and thats all I needed. I have a small specialized collection of sockets specific to appliance repair, and I needed just these to fit into a small bag. Perfect. So if your question is Can these be modified? the answer is yes.

the product is great and the sockets hold nicely in place. i wish the design on the ends were engineered better to keep the socket clips in place and from sliding off. all that is used is a rubber cap that does fall off rather easily and if unnoticed there goes some of your sockets. then you loose the rubber end piece and you have to always be careful when handling the rack

These are sturdy and hold the sockets very well. I bought the 3 piece one. Highly recommend if youve got a lot of sockets laying around.

Holds the sockets firmly, yet is still easy to remove them. Each clip that holds a socket slides smoothly, making it easy to shift them left and right. The end caps are removable so you can add or remove clips.

These are great socket holders. Solid aluminum rails, easily cut to custom length if you want. Spare ends are available. I have reorganized my entire socket drawer with these. Clips seem solid, hold sockets well but also release easily.

Nice looking in my tool box & built well. My only complaint is there isnt enough clips for sockets. Rail has more room. Had to order more clips.
